I hope this is the case as well. If they finally make defenders have brains and then patch it out it's going to be horrible lol. I also hope that even though we're hearing all about zones and pattern matching that they improved man a bit as well. Specifically the TE corner route or the corner route in general that has been money since the last, last time they fixed defense. If they run that play against man and the defender doesn't perform that weird hip turn the wrong way giving the receiver 10-15 yards of separation I just might shed a tear.

Considering the Battle tackle appears to be the biggest concern at this point, I would hope that the next video would highlight this feature to help give people a true feel for what is happening with this new event.

I think I saw that Clint will have a blog on it so I wouldn't be surprised if we maybe see that tomorrow just to try and cool down the "chaos" if you want to call it that lol.

Lol. I been posting on this forum for 3-4 years, now, I think. And, it's amazing to have seen the tone change with Rex's team. I was disappointed with 12. But, I was personally pleasantly surprised with 13 and saw the change happening (I know most don't love this version, but for me, the physics part of this game was great, but the animations were a bit off/glitchy). But, man, there was so much hate on this forum for madden, which at the time, I was surprised to see. I thought I was the only one that thought it was leaps behind where it should be, and I thought all 'maddenites' actually wanted the game to play as bad as it did. Of course, some still do, lol. They like the arcadey feel more than sim. But, it feels good that right now the biggest issue with the initial release blogs is a tackle battle that prob isn't that bad. I, personally, don't like the button push stuff, myself. But, the fact that this has become the biggest gripe (without even seeing it) actually means that madden is in SUCH A BETTER PLACE than it was a few years ago. Again, hats off to Rex and his team for trying to make a sim football game. I'm looking forward to the new changes in 17 (well, except for the tackle battle. Lol).

All I can say is wow. I'm a veteran of football games going back to the NES so I've seen it all. It seems Madden is finally turning a corner and I'm going to get to play real football instead of "Madden Ball". If this all works as advertised it's going to be exciting. I'm not easily excited but, I am now.

Hearing lots of good things, except tackle battle (I am ok with the concept - runner taps sprint, defender taps tackle or sprint, ratings play a big role and the are varying levels of winning or losing these interactions, but I hate any icon pop up sequences in all video games - it makes for really stupid "boss battles and quirky and always irritating speed sequences).

Love the backspin punt idea, but can we please get a button or combo of buttons to allow gunners on punts to strafe in front of the ball carrier or turn and strafe towards the incoming punt - meaning back towards the original LOS. If I punt a sky high short punt (please bring back that ability) and get coverage down there I should be able to strafe under the ball and potentially catch it to down it.

And for the love of field position battles, please give me a swat backwards button that actually responds to my controller input - look, if I miss time it have the player look like a complete goofy psychopath swatting at imaginary buzzards, but allow me the ability to miss time things and see the attempt, that way I may actually take a player out of position from time to time - IE human error element returns to the game in a natural way...

It's pretty cool that they're addressing the key aspects within all three phases of the game, but if we can get the return of surprise onside kicks, that'd be great. Either way, I'm really excited for this installment of Madden.

There's a new swat coming, Rex is going to talk about it in one of the blogs
