I never laughed so hard playing a game. Went to the park and played 3v3 with randoms (My team consisted of a level 5 Pro, level 1 all-star , level 3 all-star=me). We won 5 straight going against a collection of high legends and all-stars. Watching some of these guys look completely lost and frustrated trying to beat people on the perimeter leading to forced dribble pickups, bad shots, or turnovers was priceless indeed..Hero ball is basically dead and the team that shares the ball the most dominates more than ever now..


Dribbling is not as dead as some have proclaimed as I've had no problem getting by people when I was judicious when attacking. I'd say it is more about balance when it comes to the 1 v 1 matchup but a smart ball handler still has the slight advantage.


I also felt that movement was a little more free flowing in the park and not so stagnant and plodding like it was prior. Early Impressions though.

Great post. In any gaming genre, sports games especially, ubiquitous playstyles centered around exploits are the worst kind of design failure, and should be addressed as soon as possible. If a success can be had by everyone with a few select button presses, stick movements, and crunched numbers, then that is game catering to only a certain part of their customer base.

Some My Career Patch 6 impressions:

I immediately have noticed a drop off in universal game speed but moreso for how slow opponent CPU reactions have become

CPU opponent is dribbling so sluggish with little to no burst and I'm no longer seeing dribble moves.. the pace is so painfully slow and this is on 55 which originally felt fine prior to patch 6

It feels easier to check the CPU and I also am experiencing an easier time beating the cpu off dribble because their reaction are slower..

Can others relate to the slower cpu reactions in Patch 6 for my career? The agressive dribble moves from CPU opponents seems to be diminished but I'm going to try My Career on a higher difficulty to get comparable results

Just played a few more Park games before dinner, I decided to switch parks today too.

Switched to Sunset and played with two randoms, 1 was a Legend and the other an All-Star, PG and SG respectively. They both had their mics on, I didn't and they were just throwing jabs at each other back and forth. Considering I had just switched I was a Rookie 1 and it was funny hearing the Legend surprised at how well I was doing.

Somehow we won all 3 games I played with them, even though they just kept jacking 3s. I was open literally the entire time down low (7 foot 1 Center) but they just kept running around shooting. I was hoping this patch would get these guys to hit me more in the post but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Really need to group up with some dudes from here.

Full court and 3/4 court passes straight into the paint definitely go out of bounds now. Few guys try to do that to me and ball goes straight out even with great passers like Magic. Transition after free throw misses are still terrible. After scores is a little better but still needs work. Dribble launches definitely way toned down, this makes it A LOT more fun to play the game b/c quick PGs feel like they have more value.
