Tis well done but I wish I had the option to play a night game or day game for any game I play.

If that option is there I have over-looked it which isn't a rare feat.

Depends on which mode you play for example if you play exhibition mode you have the choice but if you play Franchise or RTTS then it's preselected for you based on the year schedule.

So, after all these patches and online seeming to have been running way smoother, has this game eclipsed NBA 2K16? I'm getting one or the other with a BB gift card. Just wanna know what people with both games think in comparison. Thanks in advance. Love this community.

I own both and that is a tough question for me to answer because I prefer baseball to basketball. I think the franchise mode is deeper in NBA but gameplay wise they are similar in how they portray the sport. They both do it very well, with a few minor tweaks needed here or there.

Honestly I think its going to come down to whether you would rather play basketball over the summer, or baseball.

I own both games but to compare is a bit difficult because they are two different sports. It also depends on the type of player you are if you are a mode heavy online player or a casual player. However I write this response as someone who loves baseball way over basketball and has played from little league to college level baseball! So with that said I play from a 1st player perspective meaning I create a player and place myself on my favorite team and try to compete against the CPU!

NBA 2K16 is way more flexible when it comes to this and gives you ton’s of options to create your experience. Sad but true MLB 16 removed the majority of its Player Lock and RTTS 1st person mode options this year. I’ve personally gone back to playing NBA 2K16 at the moment because of this while I wait on more patches hoping issues will be reverted. I get the emersion that my created player is actually making a impact on the team and game earning every shot and defensive play in NBA 2k16.

One thing I like about NBA 2K16 is that the shots that I take do not feel scripted and are based on skill and I play with the shot meter off! I rely solely on my timing to know if I got a good shot or not. This does not apply to MLB 16 its no longer about player skill on defense no more manual catch and fielding is automatic based on attributes leaving the user to only press the correct base button to get a result just move your man to the correct spot and the animations while nice will kick in to field the ball.

MLB 16’s Franchise mode is making strides in the right direction even though I solely play franchise mode in both games. I find myself wishing for NBA 2k16’s franchise mode features where in MLB 16. MLB 16 definitely has the upper hand when it comes to year to year saves but I’m not so sure about that anymore because when you carry over a year to year save in MLB 16 and a player is no longer in the league from your previous years save he is replaced with a generic player which is terrible what’s the point of building up that player then?

One thing if you play RTTS or Player lock at the time of writing this you will come into a game down by runs and not knowing what happened! Why this changed from previous versions of MLB The Show I have no idea. I’m blaming everything on Showtime! Cool idea for kids but not for those who want to play simulation baseball. NBA 2k16 actually faces a similar problem when you use player lock and are subbed out of the game. You may come back into the game down by 20 and be like what the heck happened and no context! Hopefully this will be fixed in 2k17 and at least it does not happen at the start of the game like in MLB 16 runs are hard to come by in baseball and its terrible to come into a game down 5 to 0 in the first inning especially when you are trying to win Franchise games. I will forever believe no one tested this mode how could you not notice this!

Written from someone who loves baseball like to the point the smell of the grass is what gets me hyped about playing a game on the field!

I like NBA 2k16 a lot, but it's gathering dust.

But like others, I prefer baseball and the Show. I don't watch the NBA at all. I could watch any MLB game even if it's a blowout.

I love the new PS4 remote play option. I play The Show on my laptop and watch sports on the big screen.

This is by far the best sports game I've played in a LONG time. The only thing that gets me is that every single time I hit against the AI, 90% of my swings are flyouts or home runs. Playing against another human gives good, realistic game stats, but against the AI it's always all or nothing. I either flyout or go yard every time I make contact. I RARELY get base hits. Very unrealistic. Does anyone have a way to even this out?

What type of hitting are you playing? Zone, Directional, analog? If it is directional that might be part of it, I had a lot of problem hitting with directional and hit a lot of pop ups and fly balls. I switched to zone hitting, which is sometimes tougher but have gotten a lot more variety as far as hitting.
