1) I am not crazy about the design decision to not show a players season stats in every AB. After their first AB it will only show how they did in that particular game (eg- 1-3 single run scored) but no BA HR's RBI anymore. Not a good design decision IMO. Baseball is about seeing my guys stats....often.
I was playing rtts and noticed one of the broadcast packages showed my current season stats on the bottom in my 2nd,3rd abs. I dont remember if it did it all the time and wish they hadn't removed the way it was last year, but I think it will show up occasionally for what its worth.

Only have played 2 games and I can say I really like the feel of this year game the controls are nice, tight, and smooth. I haven't experience any of the gameplay stutter that I've read many on here are seeing, except for the (the show) swipe in between pitches and at bats ( I can deal with that) My first game in play now it was raining and it rained throughout the whole game and looked good. one of my favorite things so far is they finally have (some of) retired players on the wall at busch (THANK YOU) it looks so much better. The night lighting is very good this year as well.

A couple of things that I've noticed that don't seem right to me is the bat when bunting it glows alike a golden scepter and Yadi Molina's batting stance (good god it looks awful, almost like whoever did the mocap was joking around and it slip through the cracks and made its way into the game)

Anything online related is a complete mess. Got tired of trying to "quick search" for a ranked online game as my attempts ended with connection failed errors...horrendous load times between screens..."Battle Royal" looks cool but it's heavily dependent on calls to a server which take for ever and suffered from the same online issues.

I will say the one game I was able to play online was serviceable and played decently.

There's big upside for the online stuff once they figure out how to break loose the bottle neck that is plaguing it. They had the same server side type issues last year if I remember correctly so there is hope.

-Game looks great for the most part. But some of the player skin tone looks way off. Caucasian players like Jay Bruce and Justin Bour are red as a beet, and look darker than the Latin players.

-Stadiums overall look great, though it's obvious more work was put into some than others. Progressive is finally improved, but they still left out the tarp! I'm not an Indians fan but even I noticed that years ago. That's inexcusable.

-Disappointed to see the option to have the home run cam turned on/off is not included again. Since this is three straight years of it not being in the game, I've come to the conclusion this option is something they'll never consider returning. Oh well.

-On CPU vs. CPU games, you cannot adjust the batting/hitting camera. It's always stuck on broadcast regardless of settings. Don't know if this was an intended change or a bug.

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here

Just got the game this morning, a few impressions:

-hitting is finally back on track. Last year, my hitting was by far the worst it had ever been, this year I am able to read pitches (especially low ones) better.
-animations are nice, especially the transition ones
-Please, please PLEASE do away with that awkward butt-slide for the infielders with their arm turned all the way around, then they "pop up" off their butt.
-had 3 hits right back at the pitcher. NHL goalie mode confirmed
-I know its a minor quibble, as a lot of the work that goes into the graphics on the parks themselves are second to none, but its really jarring when you have this incredible view (Busch), and the immediate detail behind it looks early PS3 era (the courthouse, the Hilton hotel)

Overall, its exactly what you'd expect. There's a reason this team creates arguably the best MLB game ever, and they did it again.

Really like the game so far. I actually look forward to play the night games, because the lighting on night games is simply amazing. The transitions between animations has greatly been improved over last year.

The cons I see. The jerseys that have colors, not white or gray, look really weird, like they are wet or something. Also, there is some sort of sporadic frame rate drops, looks really bad sometimes. Finally, I see a lot of generic faces for really good players this year.

I'll give it a 8 out of 10.
