Whatever Happened to the Sports Game Intro Video?

Wow that Madden 99 intro really brought back some memories. Madden 99 was my first game on my first playstation. Got them as a Christmas gift and was also the start of my love for american football. Good times!

The Show is a good example of modern day games that do it well but my favorite all time is the NHL Faceoff 2001 intro

I had NHL 94 on Super, then I got NHL 98 on PC and loved that game.
The into video on 98 was something I actually watched unlike most things I skip thru.

I loved the intro videos. Just something about the first time you popped in the game and the intro played just got me so hyped to delve into the game.

I used to watch the intro's the first time I would boot a game up....but rarely after that. So not sure they were worth it (for me). With that being said, I did enjoy this one.
