Newsflash: A player shooting under 40% from the field IRL should have a limited ability to score in a video game. The only reason he is a "primary scoring option" is because he takes lots of shots, not because he is good at making them.

Derrick Rose
Rim: 72-143 (50%) - Bad (Why the whole "he could dunk if he wanted" thing is dumb)
Close: 70-167 (42%) - Good
Mid: 24-82 (29%) - Awful
3pt: 16-70 (23%) - Horrendous

Jimmy Butler
Rim: 118-177 (67%) - Good
Close: 43-129 (33%) - Below average
Mid: 54-131 (41%) - Above average
3pt: 40-121 (33%) - Below average

Pau Gasol
Rim: 70-120 (57%) - Average
Close: 73-187 (39%) - Average
Mid: 71-165 (43%) - Good
3pt: 6-20 (30%) - Below average

One of these is not like the others. Here's one for a good laugh.

Rajon Rondo
Rim: 87-125 (69%) - Great
Close: 31-92 (34%) - Below Average
Mid: 31-89 (35%) - Below Average
3pt: 25-76 (33%) - Below average

Outside 15 feet
Butler: 94-252 (37%)
Gasol: 77-185 (42%)
Rondo: 56-165 (34%)
Rose: 40-152 (26%)

Rose is such a terrible shooter he makes Rajon freaking Rondo look competent by comparison. But yeah like you were saying, Rose should have unlimited scoring ability, because did you see those last 5 games?

I'm just asking. Your previous post implied that neither Rashidi OR Beds watches real basketball, and everything is all about the stats for them when it comes to roster updates. So, it was a simple question.

Real talk. They can't watch every game. They can't follow every team religiously. Not enough time in a day. Truth to be told, the only advantage to watching the games is that it give you more insight to how players "work for or get their numbers". It just helps in deciding whether you'll give a player a 92, 93, or 94 if player is shooting 47% from 3PT for example.

In this day and age, there's so much available data and tracking information, the infamous "eye test" is becoming extinct. I understand what you're saying, but the eye test needs to be supported by data at some point. Otherwise, it just becomes a "I don't care what the numbers say. I saw what I saw, believe what I believe, therefore it is." discussion.

2K has the following Draw Foul ratings right now (for the players I've edited)

84 LeBron James (FTR: 37%)

83 Stephen Curry (FTR: 31%)

80 Jahlil Okafor (FTR: 26%)

74 Kobe Bryant (FTR: 27%)

73 Tim Duncan (FTR: 29%)

71 Kristaps Porzingis (FTR: 26%)

69 Karl Towns (FTR: 23%)

60 D'Angelo Russell (FTR: 12%)

It's pretty clear they are all over the place and a wider range would be nice.

Some really good comparison data here. Nice work. So far the only thing I've found with fouls is that it is much easier to draw a foul with "Bigs" down low. However, this could be due to opposing big men having a high (80+) foul rating tendency. Have to test more to be sure though.

Re: NBA 2K16 Roster Update Available Now, Details Included (1-8-16)

Fouls are triggered by foul tendency not by actual contact that happens, so i encounter sometimes situations where attacking player is literally dragged down to the floor without foul call but also sometimes shooting foul occurs where defenders hand is approx 2 inches from ball and shooters arm..ridiculous isn't it ?

You're being ridiculous man. Nobody's saying he should be this unstoppable force. All we're saying is his attributes shouldn't be decreased based on his recent play. Are you justifying going DOWN after playing well? And you're comparing stats from the entire year. We're specifically referring to recent play which is the whole point of a "roster update". If you play well, you go up and vice versa. You don't say "Well, he sucked the whole first quarter of the year so that nullifies his last 5 games because that can't be who he is as a player." Lol ....Especially in Rose's case coming off an eye injury w/ blurry vision.
