Manual shot contest forces you to use the right stick and hands up defense which (if i'm right) affects pass accuracy. However it also depends on your difficulty level. On All Star assisted defense works well, on superstar and/or beyond it starts to be uneffective and you need a better/manual defensive system...

Yeah man it's the same for me .. Depending on who has the all I may do a soft close out or hard close out... What's crazy is my AI teammates hardly ever contest enough but a simple slider change can fix that...

i've been on manual shot contest all the while in 2k series. i feel that this option allows me to have full control of where and what i want the players do.
it doesnt really force me to use right stick to contest all the time. i mix it up with vertical jump (back+jump input) too. infact, i that that was better esp mid/close range. i wont be able to contest effectively all the time, but so far i manage to contain the cpu opponents below 95 pts on average (10-min quarter, superstar simulation). i am targeting 90, then 85. just a personal challenge to make the game fun.
tip by 2k: to close out effectively, u need to be near to the shooter BEFORE he releases the shot. else, less effective to affect the shot going in.

ok personally, i feel the difference when i tested playing at 100 and 0 per game. at 100 the players are sliding just like the old 2k series. hate it man.
i've been on 50 box out assist strength as i'm not sure whats that for. so far, i like my cpu performance on the boards. they are crashing no stop and bail me out for missing shots.

Guys i doubt that anyone is here to be able to completely clarify the situation that some or more experience.

I haven't had anything related to input lag or slow movement before patch4 esp offline. And i'm always since day one all full manuel. Def, boxout asists are 0, contest manual.

It's not about them. It's the movement, the slugishnes and general heaviness all over the place in the game.
Also in specific there's definitely something weird going on dribbling to halfcourt but that's another issue.

We should definitely categorize the problems we face to be clear for devs to really understand. What i suggested is all offline so normally it's all affecting online for me too because the game offline is as is.

Also after patch 4 in 18-20 Myleague Online Games which are 12 mn quarters on Hof/Sim 15 of them has had connection errors (specific error codes appeared) in the very exact times of 3rd and 4th quarters; but i've not had any drops in Play Now Online, Mypark or Pro-Am. So that's another issue other than offline/online heaviness of movement.

I hope that devs still look for feedback and will have it sort it out somehow someway. Because this is not about gameplay,graphics, game modes etc. this is core stuff, a process issue.

As others suggested my connection isn't the problem and such as i experience same offline and online. The issue is well documented network plugged in/out.

I doubt that uninstalling and installing the game would fix those.

But what i will try tonight will be going back to factory on eveything on my end to which i mean i will do steps followed:

- Delete all saved data of Nba 2k16. Not the game but the saved files on Ps4 saved data/applications.
- Reset to Factory Settings of my Ps4
- Rebuild database of my Ps4
- Reset to Factory Settings of my Router.

I will follow these steps and will definitely let you know whether i would fix it on my end.

Yeah there is a difference but still get unwanted movement at times. I should've rephrased what I said because I didn't mean literally no difference.
