It's manageable but it was better pre patch- like you said though, I don't want changes effecting my on ball D as well...

One thing the AI does seem to be more susceptible to (especially bad defenders) is size up move launches...

happy boxing day to all!

ok i had finally won the finals with Okc and i would say the most challenging cpu team i've played was the warriors. the spurs and cavs were good too, but not as tough as the warriors.

today i started a new offline myleague using the toronto raptors. and i'm thrilled to experience this:
1. foot planting was like when game was first released. the players felt 'heavy'.
2. cpu onball defense was tough. i used alot of back dribble to create space bcos cpu was playing very tight defense on my point.
3. bcos the players movement felt heavy, it seem like the controls are not very "responding". i went back to increase game speed from 60 to 70. solve the problem.
4. somehow my defense strength was zerolized. altered it back to 30. the onball felt great just like when first release.
5. crossover aint that smooth but still possible with help on pnr. will post some highlights later.
for those who love the gameplay since game release state, i bet u'll like this. i really feel there're some fixes went in during the xmas. the gameplay was very different when i played okc and tor.

But what we actually refer to is general on every aspect, it's like players move 0.5x then 0.7x then sometimes 1x as it should and then 0.5x again and on.

You know it's not like we push and they react slower it's general that they carry 100 pounds all the time. And it's offline.

And i gotta tell you that what ifigured out is some players never have that heavines in their movement top to bottom. Something has to be broken and pass the Q&A in terms of heavy animation triggers and players walking down the court on and offball players.

ok, sharing my thoughts here on NOT having any settings in the defensive settings menu. meaning, keeping that Auto. i also set AI coaching to Manual.

the cpu teammate, being able to recognise the opponent's strength, would put pressure on defense off the ball. in the two videos, u'll see my raptors ross and carroll putting "deny" on budinger and paul george resulting them to free themselves for easy basket. this is on auto mode.

so, remember to apply the right settings before the whistle blows. else, u'll see this happening very often at superstar simulation sliders, myleague offline.

For those of you who gave this comment a "thumbs" up and those feel the game is playing so great offline.. Can you answer a few question for me...

1. Do you guys not notice the input lag or heaviness the player you are controlling has especially when the CPU makes its move to score..?

2. Are y'all casual players, sim and/or have you played any competitive basketball beyond high school?

3. What size tv are you playing on.? I play on a 80" sharp and I figured maybe there was input lag so I went back to my "50 tv and it's the same to me.. And other games like FPS bf4 don't have a tremendous amount of input lag so I've concluded its something built into NBA 2ks coding...

4. If your answer to question# 1 is "yes" then how do you feel the game is playing great if something as important as core movement and reaction time is broken?

The reasons I ask is because there are so many of us who are commenting on this game and I like to get and idea of who I'm listening to or talking to bc a bit of their back ground helps me understand their answers..

1) No I am not experiencing input lag besides what's to be expected online

2) I've played HS/semi/ still play in highly competitive leagues- I have a game today as a matter of fact

3) Samsung - 60" Class (60" Diag.) - Led - 1080p - Smart - Hdtv (just got it Friday)

4) N/A. If this was the case it wouldn't be fun....

The game is a lot of fun for me. Key words on game and fun. I have way too much mileage on my knees (I'm about to add some more) to stress about everything not being 100% true to life- so that's one aspect to consider. I do enjoy a nice sim game though, and will give feedback (ask Da Czar how sick he is of me tweeting him) where it's due.

Wouldn't stress too hard about others experiences though, it'll just make your even worse....hope you get your issues figured out though...

Thanks for the quick response 24 ....as far as knees we seem to be in the same situation lol. Based on your feedback I can view your opinions similar to mine. Though I may have a completely different copy of the game than you..

In regards to key words "game and fun" that's a simple argument. Over the past few years I've watch 2k move more towards Myplayer stuff and I'm ok with that as long as they stayed true to the core values of the game mechanics.. They have not done so, whoever is over gameplay for offline vs the AI spends more time developing ways for the AI to cheat you rather than giving a more real sim experience ... The product is evident to this. In the past 2k showed it can make a great sim realistic experience basketball game.. This is how they knocked off ea. The only reason I take issue with the gameplay is because they have showed they can do it in past installments .... If your kid shows you he can make straight A's and make the honor roll on consecutive occasions.. But the following year he brings home 2-3 c's and no honor roll.. Are you still going to praise his efforts and tell him what a great job he's doing???

The 4th patch proved to me that 2k has no intent to work on the input lag and other core issues of the game. From a business perspective I understand... I have been looking and waiting for any response of them acknowledging these problems and haven't caught wind that they give a damn.. If I had a issue with Myplayer or headbands not showing the NBA logo for certain players I'm pretty confident 2k would patch that immediately.

So I play the game a lot less now and tried to start a mygm this weekend after patch 4 only to see utter frustration with gameplay .. So gave it up, season dynasty mode is the reason I by the title, I wish I could get a refund. But for those who are not experiencing the issue described above... Enjoy the game, I wish I had the same copy you guys have. Clearly I'm playing a different copy based on some feedback from this thread.
