I bought this for 47.99 at best buy at release. Price went down to 50 bucks in less than 30 days, matched it at best buy for $40 bucks. Tried really hard to like the game. Can't get over some things.

Gameplay feels tight. Skating feels unnatural. Puck possession is too unrealistic in the neutral zone. Player movement and ice positioning is unrealistic.

No custom music. Roster sharing is non existent. Announcers don't reflect the gravity of the situation on the ice. The player celebrations are cringeworthy, (same reactions, just looks bad).

No strategy to rotate goalies. Injuries don't seem to happen enough, when they do, editing lines and salary cap issues arise. Sliders having little to no impact to having massive impact on gameplay. No differentiation between good and bad players. Bad players should handle the pucks for less than 2 secs or be at risk of losing the puck.

Puck physics and collision detection is ok, except for some odd instances that you just don't see in real hockey. How about major penalties and suspensions for targeting? How about a decent goal review system?

It's 2015....it's PS4. I'm willing to wait for NHL 18 because if history serves itself. NHL 07 - meh...NHL 08 - flawed, but better...NHL 09...turning point, potential....NHL 10...excellence in simulation hockey. NHL 11 thru 14, acceptable but stale.

NHL 15...meh....NHL 16...flawed, but better....NHL 17....????

See the pattern.

I traded it in at 25 plus 60 percent bonus. Got my money back. Looking forward to next year.

The jerseys float on the players.

I'm ready to buy the legacy edition

Has anyone been able to start a fight off a faceoff in the EASHL post-patch?

This is a crucial part of the enforcer's/grinder's role that seems to have been removed from the game? I don't see the "accept fight" window popping up on screen anymore whenever you press the Y button. Even if two people on opposite teams go into the standing "fight" stance before a faceoff, no fight occurs once the puck is dropped.

The enforcer and grinder seem a lot worse at offense post-patch, which is how it should be. But I don't understand why they've made it almost impossible to start fights now. Fighting is an important aspect of the game for resetting the intimidation effects and earning energy for your team.

i keep hoping the next edition will be better (NHL 16 is miles ahead of what NHL 15 appeared to be, but that obviously wasn't a hard goal to meet). But, my worry is that with HUT, other modes of gameplay won't get the same focus. The focus on HUT didn't seem to be as big a few years back. Now it's damn near all EA talks about on their social media, and is the majority of the changes spoken about in their pre-release feeds. I'm holding out hope for NHL 17 to be the game that finally establishes NHL in the glory it used to hold on Next-Gen, but EA's got me anxious about the whole thing.

The one thing that bugs me and doesn't appear to be solved is the AI ability to fire off a full powered pass after one nanosecond of possession. And to boot, sometimes with their stick in a position where a human could never do it.

Makes it hard to play d when your chasing a missle.

Hahha. Tell me about it. That is one of the big things that irks me as well. When I'm on defense I get dizzy watching them zip tape to tape passes at a zillion miles per hour only to end up going cross crease to the guy that has the skill to pin point a one timer off of a bazillion mile per hour pass. it is to a point now that I literally just select one guy and don't move. It is better than playing chase.

They do also move their stick and can just turn their backs to you. My analogy is that they are playing street hockey and wearing sneakers, so they can side step and just stay in place but still turn. Where as we are on ice and can't get at them because of it.

Re: NHL 16 Patch 1.04 Available Now For Xbox One & PS4, Full Details Included

After more and more games with patch 1.04 I can confirm that NHL16 has transformed to a big joke. No matter if I used out-of-the-box tuner or latest one. Difference is just huge when thinking about couple of key aspects which made me enjoy this game offline vs cpu: pressure and varied hitting. Before the 1.04 patch I had hard time going in to a "war zone" because there was two men pressure on puck carrier and contact when entering to scoring sector. I just loved it. I had to cycle the puck to get better scoring places and earn that spot in front of the net. With 1.04 patch I can easily just walk in front of the net because there's no pressure at all! Defenders just skate near me but don't do anything. I tried all kind of slider combinations with Pro, All-Star and Superstar difficulties and results were the same: very weak defensive pressure.

So pressure is gone. What about that varied hitting then? Yeah. It seems that they've removed those little bumps which made you loose the puck but still stand on your skates when cpu bumped you from behind. There is still a contact but no effect at all. Player just continues skating towards the net and defender just finishes the animation with no effect.

When you combine weak pressure and decreased physical game you get awful defensive play by cpu. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one to say this but it's a game killer for me. Just weeks earlier I had the best games of console hockey in a long time. Now it's all gone.

I think this is the appropriate time to use Roy Burgundy's phrase: "Boy, that escalated quickly." Yeah. I'm done with this game.

Bottom line is
1. They do not test these before release...
2.They only care about what it does online...
3. They have no idea what they are doing...
4. All of the above...
