Re: NBA 2K16: The King of Customization
It's stuff like this that pisses me off 2K hasn't been a player in the football genre. I understand exclusive licensing killed off the NFL 2K series, but I would have liked the company to put out at least a second effort outside of APF2k8, which was half-assed & ill-planned from the beginning.
I bought NBA2K16 after renting it from Redbox over a weekend - and here's the kicker, I'm not even a basketball fan, nor do I really understand the game of basketball. NBA2K16 is such a great, immersive experience that brings you into the fold of the NBA brand and culture. I found myself going to NBA.com, looking up stats of players I've never heard of before, checking out new music (I forgot how much I loved hip hop), watching highlights from last season, looking up on YouTube principals & techniques on playing Power Forward for my MyCareer player, etc on my own. That is a true testament to the game, as it turned me from a NBA customer into an NBA & basketball consumer.
The game has so many different game modes which are all deep in their own right. Add the customization and ability to put your own mark on your experience, and you have a game that has me coming back for more.
