oh ok, i get it now. thanks JR and Jake, too.

So the easiest way to do this is if i want to control Pens, i have to control all 30 teams and i can sim through every game on the calendar, then just play the pens, right? i will try this if there is no other way.. i just hope it don't take forever to sim every game.

Its not messing up the lines of the team you control is it? That should not happen and if it is I'm going to be super pissed off....But if its not then yes control all 30 teams make sure you have the right amount of guys on the roster because you can only carry 23 and sim the games you don't want to play. They sim quick in fact I always do this as the Rangers and just go to my calendar and click play my next game and the other games sim fast. I always turn injuries off otherwise you get bombarded with injuries

I just realized that it changes all lines of my controlled team too. I clicked on Pens to control.. I clicked Asst Edits lines, NO... and then i see Malkin's been moved to the 2nd line again. I have him with Crosby on the 1st line, but then when i go to View Lines, he's on the 2nd line. And this is before i even played game 1 of the season.

There has to be a way..

You have to be doing something wrong?
I have just chsnged my 4th line center to someone else and it is showing up fine in edit lines.
I started the game and the new guy is playing center on the 4th line.
I dont know why its not sticking for you...

If i edit my line, then save it in the season, it's great. But i made my own lines for each team, and then when i go check em, they've all moved. for example, i had Stamkos on the wing for TB, now he's Center taking faceoffs and stamkos is horrible at faceoffs. I scratched a few players from each team and now some are dressed.

Ok,gotcha.

We seemed to be talking about different things...my fault.

I see you are talking about setting the lines BEFORE you begin a season.
You are correct in that these changes will not stick as the cpu seems to pick your best lines even for human controlled teams.
You will have to begin a season with 30 team control, make your changes to all teams/lines and then you are good to go.

Been playing tons of games and lovin it on near Allstar default hardcore win or lose for a week now in playoff mode so heres a few more impressions and discoveries I made after the 9/28 overwrite tuners .
I believe for me I have one of two choices to bring back organic gameplay pre 9/28 and thats to make the cpu tougher on Pro or make the Cpu less boosted on Allstar or higher .

While I can create realistic gameplay at a slower pace on Pro It just doesnt do it for me challenge wise and with so much control I only had 1 penalty called on me in 9 games so to fix that I would have to destroy everything I created .

Now on Allstar hardcore default with penalties maxed I find the key slider for me is the cpu strategy slider ! at 3 clicks or higher all teams play the same almost in a boost mode especially when their behind but IMO keeping it lower like 1 click teams have more variance and play more to their attributes because they arent in constant boost mode .

Well just my two cents so if you play near default allstar and hate cpu laser fast ping pong passes and one timer goals while having no control , always losing board battles , cant get to loose pucks or pucks hopping over your stick look into lowering the CPU strategy slider.

I also like Attributes Effect at 4 clicks for now as I think it sets superstars apart a bit more at least scoring wise as my stats are very realistic and players like Ovie and Kaner really stand out as elite scorers after 15 playoff games .
