Re: Madden NFL 16 Title Update #2 Available Now, Full Details Included

I'll weigh in with a positive impression of the 2nd patch.

When I first got the game, I played on default All Pro in the Play Now menu, and I got more competitive games on default than I'd ever gotten. I was in fact about .500 in played games vs. CPU in Play Now, but when I took to CFM, All Pro felt nerfed and I had trouble getting competitive games.

I've since gone back into CFM and play-tested default All Pro, along with several other slider combos, and for some reason, I'm now getting much more diverse and competitive games at default within CFM. The game experiences now seem identical between Play Now and CFM, which hasn't been the case for some time.

I'm not sure what to attribute this change to, but I haven't lost a game inside of CFM on All Pro more than 10% of the time in about 50 games played before Patch #2, whereas I lost my first 2 games post-Patch #2 on default All Pro inside CFM.

Interesting, and as far as I'm concerned, positive!

The way drive goals are know there is really no different for your STARTERS while having them on or using the work around. But the issue is your backups still can get boost when you get that plus one and since they don't lose points for playing bad or for a lose and what not at the end of my full season some backups where at 58 conf for not really doing much. I seen that pic where a guy got plus 2 using drive goals and I played 16 games and never seen that. Hell I only got plus one 5 times all season from them. I wonder if skill level has to do with it. I play on all pro and all madden and tested those and never had plus 2 and most times didn't even get one. Is the drive goals perfect? No way. Can it be fun? Yes for sure if you are into it. Thanks to all that found a workaround for them when they where way op. Some still don't like them but that happens to almost all new things in games. The hardcore fan base doesn't want it in there. I am a hardcore ncaa and madden player. I would call my self sim. Meaning I like stats to be close to real as I can get it. I haven't found that to not be the case with this patch of the drive goals. It works fine plus I like the xp I get from them. I will tell you, there are some that I do not even go for tho. The game comes first. I still complete around 8 out of 10 a game tho. I will say this, if you love the work around then just keep doing that. I feel drive goals are for the more causual player in my apinion and that's why some many hardcore players don't like it. There skill set is above them. They don't need th extra xp and conf.

Has anyone noticed improvement to ratings increase or decrease. since the conf. change didnt really get announced, maybe the end of season rating increase and decrease are better?

Thanks but it sounds like more of a pain in the asterisk than I want to deal with.

Thanks for the reply.

The starters does get pluses. Any + gain by drive goal is a plus that cpu team doesn't get.

I only played 2 games. And one of them have me 2 + for all players because the drive goal. I shared a screenshot. And yes it was on all pro default 15 qtr 12 acc.

Anyways I'm not saying it's unplayable. I m glad ea tune it. But this personally is not enough and I really hope next year we have the option to play without confidence feature. It affect gameplay way too much.

Also the way it is it make players how up and up and rarely go down. It's very common to see 4 or 5 players with +7 confidence in a game and it's almost impossible to see 4 or 5 players getting -7 confidence in a game. The whole system is unbalance. So using whatever way you want to play after 3 or 4 season most of your players will be very high in confidence no matter what.

None workaround fix it. It just slow down the process.

Just my opinion.

I wasn't say starters didn't get any pluses. I was saying my conf from using drive goals and using your work around after 1 season was about the same for my starters but my backups are the ones that where up more than normal. And as far as the cpu goes. I played the Broncos and there conf was in the upper 70s compared to mine that was in the 50s and some in the 60s. I didn't see me having any advantage over the cpu. The game didn't get easier. Some games I blew out the cpu but I got blown out too. Trust me, I almost threw this game in the trash until I found out 32 team owners turn off drive goals. I found that out by fixing the cpu from cutting rookies like it does. I posted on it on the first update page before all the post about it come out. That saved the game for me. I had no issue with the drive goals giving xp. Hated that if gave conf. It was way to op and I had to change sliders every game just to be able to play it or I was unstoppable. Mainly the running back and qb was unstoppable. It was stupid. All I am saying now is it is playable and I can see how it helps people who don't have much skill and lose a lot. Saves there team from getting killed on conf. Just like you said it's not for you. I don't think it's for me either. ( conf that is.) need to get it out of the game and if they keep drive goals and just do xp that's fine too. Cause I could really care less about the cpu teams cause I have the option to control them if I want too. That's the good thing about this game. The drive goals just give it some life to a really boring cfm. I mean let's not kid our selfs. The mode is pretty simple and bland. The scouting is cool, but trades, free agents and even the draft is kinda bland. Free agents are to easy to get I think compared to other games. But this is the best madden I have ever played and I see them moving in the right direction

Re: Madden NFL 16 Title Update #2 Available Now, Full Details Included

The game just doesn't do enough yet to make me feel like I am in a league with 32 teams. Feels more like a gaulet then a league. My team vs whoever. My wish for next year is just do away with conf all together but keep xp. Maybe just add cold and hot streaks back like ncaa football had and home field advantage. I mean I know the nfl has that so why is it not in the game. And my biggest wish is to make it feel like I am in a league. With in game scores or a highlight show or something. But that's why I like the drive goals. Cause the game can get bland after a few seasons.
