Big men dunking on putbacks and on dishes under the basket is a thing of beauty and power. I'm not even a Heat fan but Whiteside is bangin on any and everything off low post catches. Lovely.

This is what I worried about when 2K was talking about how much better defense was this year.

I was hoping it wouldn't be from adding cheese like this, or the defenders bumping you so you can't drive past them, or have to pull off multiple dribble moves to have a chance.

Sure, contested shots should miss more often than open shots. But these guys can still hit contested shots in real life.

Love it. The story is a big cheesey, especially because I'm white with black parents, but other than that I love the game.

I'm also worried that 2k is going to nerf the defense allowing the offense to be overpowered. We have had the game for a couple days. Plus offense will always be overpowered regardless of what defense you throw at the gamer. As soon as the gamer masters the sticks, s/he will demolish the CPU.

I don't really keep track of what types of shots I make, but I am certain that I've hit a fair bit of contested shots on the inside and from the outside.

There is going to be this constant battle between gamers that wants everything simple. People complained about contested shots going in last year where there was absolutely no effect on the shooter when you heavily contest their shots. If it's this, the current state where contested shots has less chance of going in, OR contested shots going in at an alarming rate, what would you rather have?

What about all the people who is loving the game the way it is? If developers decide to nerf the defense, those loving the game the way it is going to be bore out of their minds. As I stated in a few threads, you can always overcome a challenge, but you can never overcome the boredom you get from beating an easy CPU.

It's simply time to up our stick skills. Me, you, everyone.

Give it time. Keep playing.

I got blown out by 30+ my first game on All Star. Every game I'm understanding movement better. Understanding defense. Taking my time offensively. I'm scoring more and doing a better job defensively.

Six games in on all star and I lost by 10. Still a tough loss but I'm seeing less of the mistakes that cost me points and every possession I'm learning what to do better.

I still play man to man on defense too. It's a new game. New physics. New ratings. Keep playing. It gets easier to score with talented players once you start understanding the game.

If anyone's got any princeton offense tips I'd enjoy it. Can't really get anything good with it.

My advice.

I love what 2K is doing but their audio settings are awful. The idea that crowd is set to 60 on the broadcast setting is boggling. The crowd is not that low in games.

I pushed the crowd up to 70. 75 seemed too high as MVP chants were pretty much deafening. I set effects to 80 and player chatter to 75 I believe. Nice to hear a couple things like you would in an actual broadcast. But it's still low enough that you can't make out every comment. Commentary is at 75 and another setting is at 80, can't remember which.

Anyway the point is crowd audio is too low and commentary is too high in all settings. It ruins the immersion. Change it and you'll get a better sound from all areas.
