I really like it. Not really seeing what people are saying as far as it being light years behind other games. It's as good as anything else. Shows you what marketing does tho ugh.

Bingo! Well said. Unfortunately good marketing and the ill will developed throughout the years from EA, creates this sort of whiplash reaction. Also doesn't help that there were expectations for a deeper game this year. At its core the game is very solid. Just hope common sense will prevail and that folks out there will take the time to see the game for what is has become and not be easily influenced or dissuaded by others! Just have to go in with the right expectations.

When i say light years behind i'm talking about the animations and depth of Live 16

If you go play FIFA, NHL, MLB The Show or NBA 2K are telling me that Live 16 has animations that are up to par with those games right now today?

In terms of customization do you think Live 16 is on equal terms with those games right now?

I'd say this game is lacing in both areas and that's why i said it's light years behind the other sports titles right now...

The game is nowhere near as bad (or as revolutionary for that matter) as some say IMO

They are definitely lacking in the animation category though ...some of the stuff they pull off especially near the basket is stuff I've never see a NBA player do...and that's not in a good way...

After spending time in learn live cause I was so use to 2k I actually like this game a lot more it plays really good I'm glad I tried it . I'm preordering this game

That's what I said in another thread. Don't follow the hype and don't be a puppet. Make your own decision based on your own gaming experience.

Nothing to do with marketing. You just like the simplicity of the game where as 2k has a deep learning curve this year

I'll say this:

Marketing got me hyped. Playing the game eventually pulled the plug on the hype.

I was excited for Live16's demo release. Played a handful of games. Enjoyed it tremendously. All set to buy Live16 because I saw potential. The more games I played, the more fun I had. Liked the way one can feather their players softly. Some of the subtle animations actually look really really nice. Some of the bumping animations, some of the hand push off trying to get around the defenders, subtle player mannerism. Love being "free" whereby players are not stuck in an animation. The physics contact animations look really nice. The ball to rim physics is great in the fact that I absolutely have no idea if the ball is going in or not until I actually see the ball go through the net or bounce off the rim. Unpredictability is a good thing.

Then I started to get bored with the on the court gameplay because it was simply too easy to score so I upped the difficulty to the highest two levels. There was a lack of the 2 point midrange game. The strategy for all teams seem to be take 3 points and drive the paint for a dunk or an easy two. High arcing shots inside the paint. Hook shots with high success from players that normally wouldn't dare to do it in a real game. The interior defense is lacking. Not enough physicality in the paint. If I lose focus, it's not a big deal. If I lose focus and go down by 10 or 20 it's not a big deal. I can remedy that by pounding the paint with my point guard, shooting guard, forwards, centers without consequence and even hit buckets after buckets from the outside.

All the above is with sliders for defense turned up to 100 for both CPU and user, plus all the sliders for offense turned down to 10 for both CPU and user.

I am still holding out hope. I hope you do buy it. I hope those on the fence buys NBA Live16. I was 95% going to purchase Live16 but then the ability to defeat the CPU with relative ease on the highest difficulty made me change my mind. Secondly, the other game happened. Even if I were to purchase Live16 just to support competition in the marketplace for NBA virtual basketball games, how much time I would actually spend playing NBALive16 would likely be minimal at this point.

What I would like to see from a Live16 patch or Live17:
1) More interior paint physicality. I need to "fear" going into the paint.
2) Less shot success everywhere on the court (note: I have the sliders for offense down all the way to 10 and defense all the way up to 100 for both cpu and user).

Good luck to all the OS EA Gamechanger for Live. Work towards a better product is all we ask at this point.

Both games have their plus and minuses, but the other game simply has the more pros than cons at the moment. The other game has more check marks in the areas that I want ... not due to marketing, but simply due to actually playing the game. Is there stuff that I would like to see the other game adopt from Live16, yes.



Still hoping the patch fixes the interior physicality and midrange game and lowers the shot success rate.
