Emeralds are now Dynamic Ratings cards. Basically cards that ratings fluctuate during the NBA season base off their irl performance.
For the preorder bonus you'll get random x # of DRC packs which can contain anybody form Kendrick Perkins to Andre Drummond.

I don't think they'll put top tier cards in the preorder bonus packs. It'll mostly be silver and bronze cards.

This is an issue though.

There should be a usable card. E.g last year's Silver Durant was a joke. It was barely unusable expect from seed 8 e.g as Gold Durant was so easily obtained. No one used him after let's say first week of game.

Pro evolution had Goetze for example.

Ok I really am not expecting Harden, but some average gold/sapphire players that you could start building your team on and use them possibly as bench players in the future could be a start.

E.g a Gold/Sapphire Monta Ellis or similar players would not provide any obvious advantage to the players who get them but at least whould show some respect to people who pre-ordered.

Disagree, good cards were way to easy attain. Give ppl 3 good cards just for preordering the game is silly. You should have to earn them.

Rookie KD was defiantly a useable card. He was great for Domination, 90% of the challenges, and from qualifying to 6th seed.

You didn't do anything to earn him so you shouldn't be mad if you get Perkins in those PO packs. Gold cards shouldn't be in those packs. They're a ton of serviceable silver cards that are better than any cards you'll get from a your booster pack.

this game could have ridiculous shelf life but that is not smart business is it? they want you to buy the new version when it drops.

I still enjoy playing 15 but I can only play rttp now because of paltry helping of challenges and repetitive requirements. gem cards were really only good for rttp. smh. by the time I earned a sapp card besides Archibald, I had been long done with domination.

The only concern for me related to domination is if we will need to keep the "assist-postfadeaway" or "run'n'gun threes" cheese to keep high scores.
Will I be able to play normal-tempo basketball, play real defense and still win a decent amount of points to get a player pack? I understand that points are directly related to the final score, tho. I don't want to win 25x24 and get a thousand points, but DO I NEED to score 90 points without even enjoy what I'm doing to get, lets say, 800 points?
