Re: NBA Live 16 Gameplay Video - 10 Minutes of Rising Star Mode

We all should want this game to succeed to drive competition for both games to reach full potential. Then we all win.

Like some have said, this looks better than 15 and I would agree. But there is still catch up that needs to be done. I saw passes that should have been easily intercepted. AI defense looks frustratingly bad. Not terrible, but I can see myself yelling at the game. Post players not watching their man and the ball allowing passes to go just over their heads. Weak side D sagging so bad their players getting and knocking down open 3's.

In another video of another game coming out in the near future, lazy passes were getting picked off on a regular basis. It's early and I can see some of these issues being corrected. Just bummed to see it.

Hopefully we can all get a better feel for it next week. As of right now, I'm excited to play it once it reaches the Vault.

To honest they should not be concerned with the competition because they are in another league. 2K looks to be playing on a different level with different rules. The player in arena football want to play in the NFL but their skills just aren't as good. Stay in your place.

Im happy that the people that like nba live, has gotten their game back and year after its improving and becoming a more enjoyable experience.the market is big enough for two ,even three games & two full arcade style games....i wonder if ea will ever release the nfl license from full exclusivity..we need back the days of old where developers where making games that represented all sports with competition. I miss all the games that arent being made nomore, all ncaa games, mvp baseball,mlb2k,nhl2k, even sports that could have had a game,,all the dedicated nascar games

It looks pretty solid to me. There is definitely a lot more movement off the ball, which is fantastic. The layup off the screen by Russell was gorgeous, and I loved the help that pulled from the corner, even if it was late. I love the fluidity on catch and shoot animations, especially when they're running to the catch; they actually plant and turn for the shot rather than their feet sliding into place. That is beautiful, and something that has been on my wish list for both games for a while.

That being said, the stuff around the basket still looks a little awkward, specifically going back up after an offensive rebound. That sequence at 3:30 was cringeworthy. Hopefully that is cleaned up before release, but a lot of those animations were in Live 14/15. Other than that, though, I liked most of what I saw, and this looks like it's going to be a solid year for Live.

HA! I'm just making a pretty obvious fact. If we have 2 games from competing vendors with solid gameplay that only gets better on an annual basis, we (the consumers) win.

So yes, both competing to be better should be their highest priority.

Well, it looks better than 15, but as I stated before they are so far behind true competition won't happen in video game basketball this generation. In my opinion they still need to tweak their graphics and animations to form a true next gen foundation before adding extras. If this is the base they're rolling with for the next 3-5 years, it's not worth full price to me knowing what $60 can get you elsewhere for the same sport.
