There are players who never play who can dunk so much better than any NBA player, because it's their only actual NBA skill. Evans was one such guy.
I get that, but you mentioned his number of dunks without the crucial variable that is his minutes. I personally dont care what a player can do in practice or in a dunk contest if they cant do it in a game. If you rarely dunk in a game your rating should suggest that.

I never said that a game has ever used dunks per game buddy. What i was referencing as unique is that supposedly for the first time ever in a basketball game (according to WTF) the dunk rating will have no bearing on frequency, but instead solely the dunk package the player has access to.

NBA 2K, NBA Live, NBA Shoot out, Kobe Bryant's Courtside etc have all tied the rating to frequency. So a change in that pattern would indeed be unique

Players like Deandre Jordan and Griffin will get more opportunities to dunk because of their position and players they play with so obviously they'll dunk more than a PG, even if he is the best dunking PG in the game. A player like Gerald Green isnt going to average many dunks per game but that doesn't mean he's not one of the best dunkers in the league. Likewise a player like Yao Ming could probably average multiple dunks per game but that doesn't make him a good dunker. The guy can practically dunk on his tippy toes.

To me you can tell how good of a dunker a player is by the dunks they make. Westbrook dunks with such explosiveness and power, as well as a bit of finesse, that is rarely seen from a player his size. Just watching a few of his in game dunks and it is evident the guy is a great dunker.
James White in his athletic prime could go between the legs from the freethrow line. It all means nothing if you cant do it in a game, so id be all in favor of him having a low dunk rating as well. The ratings are supposed to be representative of what you do on the court, not what we know you can do if given the chance with no one around.

Westbrook on the other hand has proven that he can dunk in-game and do so with some flash, just not with great frequency in general (for a pg sure).

So in the traditional basketball game sense where the higher the rating is, the higher the frequency of dunks, id like to see him with a high rating for a PG, but low in the grand scheme of players. However, if in this NBA Live 16 system a high rating means a 'westbrook' like package with out the high frequency, im all for it. I'd have to see how it plays out though.

Can't believe no video of Westbrook dunking .... This is what Westbrook thinks about McLemore and Hayward ....

Spoiler

Most vicious dunk I've seen from Westbrook. If you look closely, it looks like he actually accelerates faster in the air. Damn. I think Westbrook is a great in game dunker because of the power behind his dunks. But as far as dunk contest goes, I'm not sure.

Another EA game with fake made up ratings. John Wall is never a 90 overall, nor is he on Kyrie Irving's level. Exactly why I don't take any sports game from EA serious.
