This is probably the most real to life defense EVER (inside drive just died a thousand deaths) and all i can see is a slide?

Blow my mind that THIS segment has not been touched on much in this thread...

What’s the best part of it all? It can be updated throughout the season! Yup, it’s no different than a roster update. Don’t expect them to happen as often, but if we notice trends throughout the league or specific team, expect a change. This is also something I would love to hear from you about, what defensive trends are YOU seeing from your favorite team?

Having just read this blog, I cant even express the elation. All I can say is that this NBA 2K team inspires me, just generally on a life level. I'm a construction engineer and not even remotely in the same profession but I am inspired to work hard and enjoy and use my talents.

When you see a company do all of this (that they didnt need to do) out of pure love. It makes you think to yourself that you really are no different in how much you can accomplish if you never settle for mediocrity. Bravo 2K, I cant wait to play this game.

To everyone here:

Without getting too sentimental, I appreciate all of you. Let's keep the momentum going... also keep in mind that these adjustments can be updated throughout the year.

I'll repeat, this is just the foundation that was laid this year.

The party is just getting started for you 2K sim heads out there.

and...

Slight one at that. Just like the Delly on Curry one, most of his pressure he was planting his feet and changing direction which is more then I can say for 2k15 and 14 with all the sliding and warping they had on D. The Pat Beverley one looked hella great though.

Such a small but great detail. Really adds to everything, also the scoreboards have a minor update as they removed the random colored background behind team logos. Makes it look a bit cleaner.

The thing to keep an eye out for is whether sliding provides an advantage, or is the cause of a disadvantage. There is some flexibility in friction on a hardwood floor in real life, so it's important to remember that it's not the LOOK of video game sliding we're trying to avoid, but the FUNCTION.

Sliding is not governed by ratings, so sliding into and out of advantageous positions is part of the problems we have with rebounding, loose balls, spot up shooting and defense. When sliding is only VISUAL, but the situation is happening according to basketball principles, it's a nitpick. When sliding is FUNCTIONAL, and affects the outcome of a situation, we need to be on notice and isolate the situations so we can help find solutions.

In the above example, does Melo go from a pull up 2 to a pull up 3 with that slide, even though he has done nothing to make that shift? Does he go from inbounds to out of bounds?

No way to know until we play the game, but this is the context of the sliding issue that I find useful.
