But if you dont think Shaq would destroy Golden State then you're being ridiculous...

Noone on Golden State can guard Shaquille O'Neal... And "The Glove" on Curry would be very intriguing...

And thats assuming Alonzo Mourning wasnt in the game as part of a power lineup..
Like wise Shaq would be useless on defense against golden state once they played small ball. He wouldn't be able to defend Green on the perimeter.

As far as the '06 Finals, DWade set the all time record for free throw attempts in a finals series and that is a record that is probably not going to be broken any time soon.
And? He's a top 5 all time slasher who got to the basket at will unlike Dirk who was shooting jumpers and stil averaged 9-10 FT's a game, thus getting exposed by the Heat in the Finals and the Warriors as a 67-15 team in the first round. Him shooting jumpers with Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson guarding him in the post was probably the most pathetic play I've seen from a superstar next to '04 Kobe and '11 LeBron in their respective Finals.

As for the '06 P/O:

Wade - 250 FT's in 23 games
Dirk - 229 FT's in 23 games

... Dirk averaged a measly 0.9 less FT's than Wade per game despite mainly being a jumpshooter, albeit a great one.

You're talking like Green is Dirk Nowitzki or something. He could stretch the floor but he's not a GOAT-level type shooting bigman like Dirk is. It doesn't matter whether Shaq could defend Green or not because Shaq would still make a much greater impact offensively and on the boards.

As a Heat fan though, I do think that this would be a 7 game series. No one is stopping Curry nor Wade and while GS has greater depth, the Heat's bench isn't too shabby and we would still have the big fella in the paint commanding double/triple teams while being a great passer out of the low post, thus opening up shooters.

Now if this the "Big Three" Heat instead of the '06 team, the Heat would win in 5/6 since they had the recipe against this Warriors' team and beat an OKC team that was similar in talent to GS, albeit Top Heavy vs Nine/Ten Deep.

I don't necesaarily mean Greens shooting touch but more his play style. Dirk, especially back then, was more than happy to settle for jump shots and fallaways. Green, if put at the 5, would spread the court with his shootong but also be able to drive by Shaq. On D it probably would have turned into hack a Shaq. Either way it would be a gold series. I'm not saying the Warriors definitely win but I think Shaq could be a liability as much as he was an asset.

And to add I definitely think the Big 3 Heat would take the Warriors barring Wades health. If Wade has his old man knees acting up he would struggle on defense.

I think the officiating was questionable but what it ultimately comes down to is Wade was equipped to abuse Harris/Terry similar to how they abused Finley/Barry.

Young Udonis Haslem staying in front of Dirk (which 35-year old Horry couldn't do) was likewise a factor. Dirk had to develop his post game after this series (similar to what LeBron had to do in the 2011 rematch).

LeBron had a pretty decent post game before the '11 Finals, his fadeaway jumper from there was good. He just had to get better but his mental game during that series was downright pathetic though.

I've done enough bitching about the 2006 Finals. I don't have the will to do it any more. It helps that Dirk, Cuban and Terry exorcised those demons in 2011; me and every other Mavericks fan along with them.
