Uniwatch had a fan submission contest.

Even though the clippers didnt care some were submitted before they chose that ea sports looking logo, and even though most of the employees disagreed they still chose that ugly logo package.

Key word is sounds...that is one thing I will never trust to be improved until I actually see it in game.
