The lighting had a "warmer" hue, which is a bit closer to reality, but the actual stadium lighting is the issue not necessarily the the overall palette.

For example:

2k14

2k15

Most arenas lighting drops off into oblivion after about the 5th row when in reality that doesn't happen except for specific arenas like LA, NY, & BKN(who's isn't dark enough btw). Court textures were and still are not where they should be and uniform/accessory colors should have more saturation.

I agree lakers24, and let me say yes 2k14 courts were not the best and they still needed work, but taking away all reflection and polish wasn't the way to go IMO, and also the lack of light reflection off of the players makes the game look darker.

It really depends on which picture of a game you use. Here's one that shows a nearly identical hue (a little more washed out actually) as 2k has in Indiana:

The picture you linked to looks like it's really early during pre-game. There could be a few lights not on in that picture.

Anyway, back on topic:

These player models look so much better than last year and I'm really excited for 2k this year. That's pretty surprising to me, because I only picked up 2k12 because it was in a bundle with MLB 2k12. I hadn't played an NBA game in about 10 years prior. Hooked me back in.

The didn't take it away, it's just been reduced a lot, which is a good thing because nearly every court looked like glass in 2k14. If you tried to play using the 2k cam in certain arenas you couldn't even see parts of the floor. They need to find a way to balance the reflections to where they're noticeable but not too intense. Higher res floors would go a long way in helping. For an example, NBA Live's floors are really great as the wood actually looks like wood and the reflections aren't over done.

The picture I used is closer to how it looks during national broadcasts(which is what we all reference). Either way my main issue wasn't the actual floor so much as it's the stadium/crowd lighting in general.

One critique about the jerseys ... and yes I know we need to see more, so this statement is merely based on these 5 released screenshots.

But, the detail/texture/lighting on the jerseys ... gives the jerseys a 'soft' look to them, almost velvet-like.

Yea I never had that problem since I play on broadcast cam, but I agree Live courts are very impressive and hopefully 2k does take the the time to show the, courts more love in the future.

Re: NBA 2K16 Screenshots of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan

last gen 2k set a pattern of slowly degrading the graphics, as the i assume they added animations. That was largely unnoticed as there was no real competition to push the standard. The same cant be said this generation.

I dont think the reduced appearance of shine on the court tells the whole story when talking about the difference between 14 and 15. The lighting on the players on 14 overall was staggering compared to 15. It looked like 2k15 was being played in a middle school gym.

With the comp releasing pics with impressive lighting and skin tones, these pics will receive extra scrutiny. Good news is that there is nothing to indicate these are the final products.

Lighting is definitely the biggest gripe amongst most here. It's way too drab/dull.

Look at the PC pics in the photograph thread. The brighter lighting just makes it look that much better. Last years Live had better lighting/courts, so we know it can/should be done.

Now lets see some Giannis and Jabari!

Either way, we won't know until we see it being worn.
Actually, I think this is a legitimate (albeit small) gripe, as the following image shows:
Spoiler

The difference is pretty obvious and I don't think any amount of elastic stretching would make the T look as elongated as it does in the 2k16 screens.
