Brother i was thinking the same thing yesterday. In my mind I saw Rex looking at people complaining about penalties in threads like this and saying tone it down before we even started.

I simply don't get it, if the sliders work as they claimed and you don't want penalties set them to zero, problem solved.

It will be interesting to see how / if this works. The problems with adjusting sliders in this game in the past have been twofold. One, some of the penalty sliders worked, at least somewhat and others did not. Two, if one adjusted sliders significantly, say putting them at O then other aspects of the game play were affected, normally in an adverse way.

I am going to wait and see how all this plays out before purchasing. Another aspect I need to wait and see on were the abundant number of sacks that were in last years game. They said last year after all the complaints that they did not see sacks as a problem. If they were unable to see that then one wonders what else are they missing? Just gong to take a wait and see approach, I'm really tired of purchasing this game only to become frustrated very quickly.

Same fears. Usually in Madden if you move one slider it impacts like 3 other sliders, especially when you tool around with penalty sliders. Crossing my fingers that Madden 16 will not give the slider makers total fits like 15 did.

Quoted from upthread:

Clint Oldenburg told me repeatedly that gameplay sliders only affected gameplay, penalty sliders only affect penalties, and all sliders operate the same in every mode of the game. He specifically said there is "no difference" (his words, he invited me to quote him haha) in function of gameplay sliders in Play Now and Connected Franchise (I specifically asked about that).
Hopefully good things to look forward to, given this quote.

There was a DPI in one of the Steelers/Bengals videos.

Not sure how much I believe Clint on that. I asked him about the slider issue last year around the patch release and he acknowledged that the sliders were wonky.

Around E3 I asked him if that has been corrected and at first he had no idea what I was talking about. Then he said that the sliders have never did such a thing. This is not the first time he has contradicted himself on twitter. Possible, maybe even likely, that there was a misunderstanding somewhere

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing

With the way they've said they have penalties set up, there really shouldn't be any need for them to have changed anything since E3 or change anything into the future (other than maybe minor tuning as the data changes) regardless of what any group says basically from this Madden on. The way it was mentioned at E3 seems just about perfect to please everyone; no CPU-triggered penalties in PvP, MUT, or DC and sliders that work.
