Re: Some New Madden NFL 16 Screenshots

They've made it clear that they are aware of the equipment problem and they are planning to update it for next years game. At this point I don't think there's much hope getting it into this year's game even though it's a huge eye sore and should've been fixed a couple years ago.

Re: Some New Madden NFL 16 Screenshots

I will never understand why people come on these pic threads, which always turn into visual critique threads, ( cuz ya know, its pictures of the game) and then proceed to argue about people discussing the very thing the thread was started about. I am of the majority, gameplay is first on the list, but I play Madden to try to replicate the NFL, and a huge part of that experience, real life and videogame, is visual. Why should we not want to have our cake and eat it as well? The dev team wants to give us that, we are attempting to let them know what we want to see when it comes to player likeness, so dont come into a thread and yap about gameplay, when the thread is solely about the games looks. I dont complain about the lack of arm sleeves in ol/dl interaction discussions, pay us the same respect.

Will give the game a fresh look totally separating it from last gen.
This! As well as upgrading the sideline player models to resemble their on field counterpart (on field accessories, correct sock length, numbers on back of their jerseys, etc..)

As to relative priority levels of equipment - I'm reasonably positive that if in an alternate universe it was publicly revealed that this year's WR/DB interaction rebuild and gameplay mechanics or penalties overhaul was cut from Madden NFL 16 in favor of updating equipment, adding mouthpieces, and other purely cosmetic flair, the vast majority of this forum would throw a fit and question Tiburon's priorities.

Just my opinion, but I think Tiburon is correct in holding core gameplay as higher priority over authenticity-enhancing eye candy. Granted, I also don't think that Tiburon is helplessly incompetent and my opinion is that the game has actually dramatically improved in quality across the board over the course of time, so take my opinion how you will.
Point taken, but is something as miniscule as adding mouthpieces going to severely take away from development time? I'm personally not buying that shortened development time or "core gameplay priority" excuse anymore. It would be one thing if something like equipment has only been lacking for a short time, but like you said we're going on 10 + years since we've had something a small as a mouthpiece lol. To me it speaks to a lack of attention to detail more so than a lack of development time or priority list. As always I respect your opinion though

My thing with the equipment update (which is needed ) by the way. Ea seems to do things that doesn't make sense. Like for example we been hollering about new equipment for YEARS. But ea decides to update the crowd and give us female fans and put nfl films gear on the sideline crew. Also update the hot and cold weather gear on them as well. Thats all well and good but then not updated the gear on the players. Makes no sense. Smh

You might have not noticed, but on these OS forums alone, people have been b*tching about the crowd, cameramen wearing shorts in the snow, etc for a while now. So in EA's defense ... they fix something that people have been vocal about, and still are going to get screamed at for not getting around to other stuff. If they had fixed equipment this year, and left crowds & sideline cameramen alone, they'd still be accused of not giving people what they want. Kind of a no-win situation.

Hell, I can be a bit of a conspiracy theorist myself. Yes, I know, EA has shown to be an 'evil corporation' in some ways in the past. But I'd like to believe that EA-Tiburon is not purposely dragging things out over many years to milk us out of our money. Maybe they truly don't have the manpower to take on all these updates, at the same time as repairing a broken game carried over from last-gen, in 1 or 2 development cycles? Again, I'd like to believe that the devs aren't dicking around the office for 6 months out of the year and blowing off all of our requests ...

Yep, that's why I say people have too high of expectations for one cycle. If they add edit players and draft classes but no weekly wrap up then people will complain about that. If they work on gap assignments and player movement, people will complain about a lack of dynamic weather or defensive assignments or formation subs or __________. There will always be something to complain about, if that is what you are looking to find.
