Sorry if this has been asked, but I am in my phone. How do you start your career? I went through the prolouge and played a play it now 18 hole round. Should I be seeing something different?

As far as swing improvements it's exactly the same and there's even a little lag when putting sometimes or in cut scenes which I also experienced on the x1. I would say I find the general swing technique better on the ps4 but it's most likely due to the fact I prefer the ds4 controller.
I'd say that based on your experience, the PS4 version is sporting at least a 180p higher resolution. If the XB1 version is 720p, it's a more organic 720p than what I'm used to seeing. It's probably a testament to the quality of the Frostbite 3 engine.

I'm wondering how much, if any, of the graininess that so many of us are seeing is an intended effect? I can see where a producer might say they were trying to achieve a "film" effect. If that's so, I would question why you would want to be attempting to infuse a film effect into what for the player is a "live" event.

Whatever is going on with it, EA Sports doesn't seem to want to address specific questions about the resolution and frame rate. I'm hoping they'll be willing to give some official information on this post launch.

I appreciate your reasoning on why you think the PS4 version feels better to you. I'm partial to the XB1 and XBox 360 Silver Edition controllers for golf games, not so much so because of the feel of stick itself, but its physical location on the body of the controller. I prefers a left thumbstick swing, since my brain has made an association between my left arm and the left thumb in a thumbstick modeled golf swing. My thumbs are long and the higher position on the controller body of the left thumbstick with the XB1 and XBox 360 controllers creates a less severe angle for my thumb to manipulate the left thumbstick with greater precision and feel.

I'll be interested in reading the reactions of others who've both played the Early Access versions and then the PS4 versions of RMPGAT this coming week.

I continue to marvel to this day at how good the putting feels and rewards the senses in that game. This option was added as a patch, as DivotMaker indicated earlier, in response to user feedback. In fact, I got a personal e-mail from one of the developers, thanking me for my persistence in beating the drum for that option.
This here gives me hope that this dev team will make an effort. PGA tour is smaller than madden or Fifa, and gameplay issues should be first on their list rather than ultimate team or some player doesn't have the right face mask.

I preordered the digital version of this game on the ps4 for the simple fact that I don't want to get off my butt to take out Destiny.

I hope you guys are ok that buy it on good faith they will fix a lot of these big issues, I'm not that optimistic that will happen. I am just going to have to pass on this year's game, maybe if they do really improve on it I will pick it up for $20 or so. For now I'm content playing older TW games on PS3 and TGC.

Re: Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR Trial Available Now on EA Access, Post Your Impressions

Details on 2 seasons of "simmed" Pro career:

I passed the Web.com portion and wanted to check a couple of things in the mode I am most interested in. Withdrew from the start of each tournament to move through the seasons. I don't think the withdrawals would impact any of the things I checked.

- 16 tournaments a season including the FedEx Cup progressive playoffs(which I correctly did not qualify for.)

- No special end of season wrap up

- No option to change things like courses between seasons. Concerned on what that could mean for using new courses in career mode.

- All 4 Majors are played at the same courses in year 1 and year 2. /sigh

- No other tournaments changed courses or their spot in the schedule.

- 16 tournaments. All in the same order and on the same courses year after year.

- No additional stat tracking after going through either 1 or 2 seasons.

Any other tour pro mode questions that this test might have answered?

My 10 hour rollercoaster ride with RMPGA has come to an end. It started out with me cursing the hell out of EA and wanting to back out of my preorder, to now jonesing like crazy for some more. Now i gotta get through 2 days of work until i can get my predorder and carry on with my crazy pro career. I was able to finish my tourney at Royal Troon, where I hung around in 30th position before making a late climb in the final round to finish in 7th. Had some good opportunities and blew some with some drives in the rough, a couple iron shots into the greens bunkers, etc but that all added to the adrenaline rush. Trying to carry momentum into the next tournament, I was soon bitch slapped back to reality as I fell victim to the brutal, Wolfs Creek. First round was a +5, but really liked the course. Very challenging. Cant wait till tuesday to hit up my next tourney. A lot of things are missing, but the core golf, with all the aids turned off, is pretty addictive.

For added fun, grab your favorite bottle of jack and take a shot every time you here " you can't hide the pin from this guy" Good Times!
