Re: NHL 16 E3 Gameplay Trailer

The player seperation is never going to be corrected. I think EA feels it's more important for people to play "fair" games against each other online or whatever rather than have seperation. That's why EASHL now had all players being the same. I don't know why they think this but clearly for some reason they think it helps sales. Weird. Not only is there no difference between playing with say Brian Boyle or Stamkos skill wise, you notice no difference in play styles which renders player type useless. Revamped rosters help this out greatly but sadly I'm starting to believe that much like gameplay sliders, some player edit sliders do little to nothing at all.

The biggest issue with revamped rosters is that you can't play BaGM after one season.
As soon as the rookie's come in, after a season or two, it all goes out the window.

(That's obviously no fault to the guys who spend countless hours working on them. They should be commended for their efforts).

Looking at the trailer again, I didn't even notice the move by Tarasenko looks like they might have added a more realist looking toe drag back in instead of that dumb auto drag. I love the way he really uses more of his body to try to throw off Crawford.

Doing my best to try to remain positive. But man, all this largely like 15 stuff is very discouraging. Stopped playing 15 months ago, because of what was said about 16! Sure wish they'd put out an adult version.

Eastside Hockey Manager Early Access is another Hockey SIM I'd recommend.

I think its pretty simple..

EA needs to release gameplay to ease everyones concerns. These trailers all look great and show off nice graphics etc...but they need to drop some gameplay today. No hiding behind closed doors and only showing it off to certain people...

They have a lot of catching up to do to ease a lot of people's concerns. Drop 5-10 minutes of gameplay and lets see what you've got.

I've read the rosters are like that because of the NHLPA. The whole Shawn Chambers is a 2 overall thing got their jimmies rustled.

Re: NHL 16 E3 Gameplay Trailer

I have gone from "I am not going to buy this game unless it absolutely blows me away" to "I am pretty much buying this game now!" (when the info about Player Editing was released) and now I am back at "I am not going to buy this game unless it absolutely blows me away". Unless they've made or make some serious adjustments between now and release day I'm likely not spending any money on this game. I guess I am back to waiting for the demo and being very cautious to read reviews again. *sigh*

With roster sharing not an option this year that's a huge killer for me. So far it looks like nothing has been tweaked regarding gameplay. I keep holding out hope that EA will actually improve the gameplay but it's a waste of time. Fix the defensive AI, make it so there is more neutral zone play, make goals harder to score. Nothing ticked me off more than the goal scoring in NHL 15. It just felt way too easy to snipe pucks past the goaltender. It felt incredibly cheesy. Also if it could be done to fix the stiff looking animations to look more fluid, like in real life, that'd be awesome.

I get the sense that the folks at EA are really proud of the graphics in this game, and that's cool, but graphics alone DO NOT make a game. Neither do all these "authentic" little details. Unfortunately that's the way a lot of people are nowadays. If it doesn't have great graphics they're immediately turned away, which is pathetic. Again, I like little things like this but to put it ahead of more critical things such as gameplay and AI is just dumb. We're in the next generation of consoles. It's a friggin joke that this series doesn't truly represent the sport of hockey by now. This game is so terribly catered to kids that want to score every time they touch the puck. It shouldn't be like that. You should have to work and earn your goals and earn your puck possession. :

Hey look, EA are going to make the game THEY want to make and as long as these same people are in charge I don't see there being much improvement in the series. I'm not trying to be negative, I just want to get back to enjoying this series like I did several years ago. (And PLEASE stop focusing so much on HUT. It's sucking away too much from this game. Ultimate Team has to be one of the worst things that's happened to the series)
