Takeaway Trailer didn’t scream a deff buy, nor did it show me anything I really hate. It’s a meh trailer. However the warping looks like it still exists in passing and I can assume it may still exist with tackles.

The Bad:

There are now females in the crowds.

Warping isn't suppose to exit in tackles and blocking anymore.

CH-There is added locomotion to the the QB this year. I can't recall if other players received an upgrade.

That may be so. And it's my fault for interpreting Rex's comments the way I did. But taken in its entirety, even though the blogs did pep me up some (love the gangtackle potential), I still feel underwhelmed by the Madden news today. I wasn't expecting anything earth shattering, just a little more (especially presentation, which still may come...) I guess. I wanted to hear about more authentic broadcast elements, fan AI and stadium specific stuff like NHL has. Stuff that creates immersion. I know that's not Rex's area, but still...

After looking at all the blogs (if all the gameplay improvements do pan out), if the other area of Madden that I was interested in (off field) had this kind of "realism" improvement, it probably would have been a definite buy.

Looks like for me, its either hoping for that other football game or waiting until next year and hoping for improvements in other areas of Madden.

I will say, if these gameplay improvements pan out, I'm impressed with the direction of this part of Madden. I think the catch type is a bit gimmicky. The catch type should really be determined by the position on the field and position of the defender (and ball placement by QB). But many of the other things discussed in the blogs at least sound like a step closer to "realism".

I'll have to rely on gameplay footage, but it looks like another year I'll be giving kudos to the gameplay team and disappointment in the off field area of Madden.
