They just do it. EA on the other hand..Don't even get me started. The only thing - imho - thats really worth while out of EA's camp is the FIFA franchise. It seems to me most resources are in Vancouver and FIFA really has a lot of stuff to like. All the different boots, balls, celebrations, jerseys, ball boys, in-between replays. They understand what makes soccer, soccer. But Madden, NHL, NBA...smh
FIFA had to have all these bells and whistles because it played a slightly inferior game on the pitch to Pro Evolution Soccer for many years. Eventually it even gained the upper hand in that department but until that time all of the peripheral stuff really helped shift units for EA. Current-gen, PES plays better again, so the struggle continues and the consumer wins.

MLB is now a system seller for Sony so gets the resources it deserves. It needs to be good.

Basketball? EA dropped the ball recently, but 2K aren't go to rest easy.

Madden? Haven't played in years but I'd assume that the budget is leagues ahead of the NHL series such is the worldwide popularity of the NFL.

No competition is slowly throttling this series. I still can't get my head round the lack of penalties since 11, 12 with the sliders at max and how any company could conceivably think it was acceptable to not include a Season Mode in a sports game after making a next-gen debut a year later than expected.

I actually asked this question I guess for Day #4. The 2 man celebration was a good start, BUT they need to have the full 5 man celebration in and not the 2 man one in where the other 3 players are stuck in that going towards the goal scorer animation and then drift away immediately once one person hugs the scorer(anyone that plays the game knows what i am talking about).

Rammer mentioned last year that they were working on at least 3 men, but that never got in.

I also asked about all correct goal horns being in(someone else did too which EA responded to) and they mentioned they're trying to get them along with authentic atmosphere around the goals I guess? Nothing worse than being a Dallas Stars fan and scoring and hearing the Detroit Red Wings goal horn

Re: NHL 16 Q&A Day #3

Bummer about the lack of custom cameras. I tried a little OTP with 15 and there wasn't a suitable camera for my tastes, especially for playing defense (not an overhead fan). Hopefully the new camera they're working on specifically for player locked modes will be similar to my old custom preference.

Also disappointing to hear no skill stick on defense, and what sounds like no additions to the tool box, only tuning. The skating refinements could help quite a bit with positioning, but the series sorely needs some mechanic to pressure the puck carrier without poke or body checking.

Also perks should show up on match up screen so you know exactly what you're up against.
Good stuff. This could be a next step if they want to compromise between the base ratings and full customization crowds. Allow us to assign two or three traits to our player that each provide moderate ratings adjustments and the ability to further tailor the build to our preferred playing style. So if I want to be a bigger 2-way center, I could add faceoff specialist, physical presence, shutdown defender or something like that.

Am i the only one who feels that most of questions asked sucks!!!
They seem to be making the same mistakes as last year, answering question but not really answering.
Nothing has been said about goalies, or actual gameplay.

I feel the Q&A is rigged and fake.

Re: NHL 16 Q&A Day #3

It sounds like NHL 17 will have to be our true next gen hockey experience, because NHL 16 isn't gonna ascend high enough. It will be a noticeable improvement over NHL 15, but it won't be the dream game we wanted.

- No editing players (Custom Rosters would've been huge)
- No shootout mode
- No multi-team control in GM mode
- No CHL stat tracking in GM mode
- No GM expectations, meaning you likely can't be fired / change teams in GM mode
-No discussion from EA in regards to changes in gameplay mechanics (No defensive skill stick, no revamped goalies, no revamped animations?)

It will at least be fun to do a fantasy draft season mode with a buddy of mine, and finally get to experience Be a Pro on PS4.

"Will the custom camera modes return in NHL 16? (custom 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5)

Custom cameras are currently lower on our priority list. At the moment, we're working on a new camera for Be A Pro, OTP and EASHL."

Custom cameras are a pretty big issue for me too. I never could find a camera I liked playing with in NHL 15 (PS4) and that's how we view 90 percent of the game, is the gameplay camera. Someone should move it up the list. Awful camera angles hurt the rest of the on-ice product.

I can't agree on PES playing better. I have them both and with the right set of sliders, I find FIFA to play better ball then PES. But thats a different discussion and a mather of opinion. NHL and MADDEN are playing ok, and looking ok, but - especially - Madden should be great with all the money EA slams at Tiburon. To many stuff missing in the gameplay department, idem with customization, presentation, commentary and stuff to unlock. FIFA keeps me playing because I like it AND i can unlock boots, balls and all that good stuff to keep me hooked.
