That's all fine and good. Just don't hype it if it is not going to work correctly. That is like me trying to sell you a car and saying that it's going to be great. You then buy it and the car runs fine, but there are no brakes.

I listen to his radio show often, and nearly every week during this stage of development, and especially knowing what I know now about how all of this works, he's definitely telling everyone exactly what is going on and what is coming down the road. Sim has direct contact with the devs and gives his feedback to them directly, he's told all of us this several times, but for some reason people say he's not critical of what they are developing, that's just not the truth, I saw it first hand, it's a matter of when, not if, the developers are going to address the concerns that people have had on these forums all these years. Look at the last couple years, under Rex and Cam, they worked on nearly all of the major requests that people had been asking for, physics, o/d line play, foot planting, wr/db interactions, better penalty system, etc.... The implementation of those things may not be where we want it YET, but they are STILL working on all of these features and trying to get them to the level we are wanting. Their focus is on these gameplay issues and until they get these things where they are happy with them, they won't be paying as MUCH attention to the bells and whistles, doesn't mean they will ignore them altogether, but it won't be as high of a priority.
Here's the thing though JP, the fact that they're trying to get the game play solid is definitely a good thing but all that really matters at the end of the day is the game now. The thing that seems to get missed whenever anyone rightly defends the effort this team is putting forth for game play is that the game in front of us is severely lacking. If those not currently satisfied with where the game is now, felt differently, then of course "heading in the right direction" would be enough but for someone like myself that finds the game incomplete currently, it's not. I'm just saying this in hopes that you and whoever else realize the context of the frustration surrounding Madden from people that enjoyed complete football video games in the past and other complete sports sims now.

That said I have pondered the notion that maybe it's important to tout what they/devs are trying to do because if we don't support it then it won't continue, I get that. However that's a stuff spot to put us in, as well as them/devs and I don't know how I feel about the whole thing. Part of me just wants a good football game to play and to do whatever it takes within reason to get that but another part of me resents the fact that workers and consumers would need to collaborate so diligently just to get football in a football game.

God bless Cam, Rex and whoever else is trying their best to get football in Madden but if another complete football game is ever available again, I won't touch another EA football title, ever, after the mess the company has made of football gaming this past decade.

I find it very difficult that they have been working on these issues, those in bold, for very long at all..The physics is basically faux physics in Madden which is based on getting animations to react a certain way; there is absolutely no true physics mechanism in game..

OL/DL interaction is again animations and those animations are not even in step with attributes, which has been shown many times in videos...

The WR/DB interaction is way off, and it is easy to figure out the basics of WR/DB interactions with google and/or youtube...

The problem seems to be a combination of many things, but most importantly is, IMO, a very poor gaming engine...Other games do much better on all aspects of physics, yet MAdden still relies on simple animations linked together...

I doubt anything will change for M16; though believing this, I still pre-ordered Madden 16...

Seriously, the programmers can't even make WR's aggressive enough to actually compete with DB's for the ball...SMH...THis is either poor programming or a deliberate attempt at forcing people to user WR catching; though even user catching is difficult cause WR's do not break out of their animations in time..

This is how I feel the new penalties are going to turn out. They're hyping PI and defensive holding because we haven't seen it in years, or ever in defensive holding's case, but they are both penalties that get called on teams less than once per game. If we start seeing 5 PI calls and 3 holding calls a game, it's a complete failure. Sliders should help alleviate this but sliders haven't worked properly in years either so it could all just end up being a wash and making things worse.

If the game, as far as implementing the basic fundamentals, is still a work in progress, then IMO, the game should only cost about $19.99, until they get the basics correct..Very simple..I didn't buy a car that didn't run, under the label, it is a work in progress; I buy a car cause the fundamentals that make it a car actually work to standard..

I would not be surprised that once one PI or defensive holding penalty is called, the tourney/head to head players will cry so much that it will be patched within the first month.

I'm assuming when you say the WR/DB interaction is way off that you're referring to M15, because you haven't even begun to see how they are in M16.

I can already picture people online figuring out how to constantly trigger PI animations and have that be the next new cheese. Playing games where the opponent scores 60 points on you on 27 total yards and 70 PI penalties.
