Did you think last year's game looked like it was on the ps3?

Von Miller reportedly bought the copyright too. Its not as simple or as cheap as you think. People arent thinking about Madden when they get tattoos and its not like they negotiate those rights when they get the tattoo. In order to get the copyright, you have to negotiate with the tattoo artist and he may not be willing to sell you those rights for cheap.
Just doesn't make since to me. I know I read what Roadman posted. EA pays the NFLPA in order to use each NFL Players likeness in game but can't put THEIR tattoos in the game because it's owned by the tattoo artist. Maybe I need to look closer for that tm logo on each players tat's next time.

Sounds like EA is just scared of another lawsuit is the main reason plus the fact they use the same 3 body types for each player that they've used in like forever.

Answer me this why does NBA2k have them? Hell NBAbarelyAlive even has them.
Maybe NBA2k also has an agreement with the TPAU (Tattoo Parlor Association Union)

This game looks gorgeous when not in motion. Graphically it looks way better than last gen.

The NBAPA deal covers tattoos while the NFLPA deal doesnt. What that means is if a tattoo artist sued EA for tattoos being in NBA Live, the NBAPA would indemnify EA and pay for all costs related to the suit. The NFLPA isnt obligated to do that under their deal.

If I ran EA I would do the same thing they are doing. While I'm all for authenticity, EA has no protection against a tattoo artist suing them. I'd also argue that tattoos arent as prominent and important as the NBA. If Lebron didnt have his tattoos in NBA Live, people would lose their ****.**** they would lose their **** if Chris Andersen didnt have his tats.

If Manti Teo doesnt have his tattoos, most people are like...meh. If thats the typical reaction, why risk a lawsuit?

Based on EA Sports' own established track record with not only Madden but all their sports video game franchises, why is any go in expecting revolutionary changes this year? There's no basis for such expectation and you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. That's not EA's fault. They are clearly happy with their own output and until unit sales and MUT micro transaction downloads plummet, they aren't going to change their creative direction.

I say all this as someone who likes Madden. And I do like Madden. But I don't expect the world from it. I expect it to be Madden.
The issue is Madden truly is a bad game... Look at Uncharted on PS3 or MGS4 the textures lighting and animations are far more fluid than Madden on PS4 and it's not even close. Running animations are god awful the Oline AI is god awful it's disgusting how bad it is.

On PS4 we've actually talked to one of the guys who works on the game and he says everyone laughs to the bank when people talk bad about Madden and EA truly doesn't care and they cut cost and try to save us much money as possible. They literally do not care about the consumer. I'm glad I haven't purchased the game in years. It is clear just by comparing PS3 games that Madden should have a lot more detail for current gen the graphics animations and AI clearly aren't were they should be. Football should be an animation based game and the fact that animations are so awful on all EA games is a travesty.

You do realize quality is subjective and that Madden generally reviews well in the video game media, yes?

Plenty of people enjoy the game. If it were "truly a bad game" that would not be the case.

Should go in the "What grinds my gears" thread but when people say those things (and I know I should just ignore it) it drives me bonkers.
Again a lot of it probably come from each gamers gaming history but while there are things I'd like to see improved/added, Madden gave me some really fun times.

I'm really hoping I can score a copy as early as I did last year. If I do I'm simply popping it in and playing.. for the fun.

Last year's game didn't look like it was on the ps3, and neither does that trailer. But I would like to know what EA is compressing Madden down from to get it at 18.64GB, when we see other sports games coming in at 35GB+.

Is it just that EA is choosing to compress down, seemingly unnecessarily, from 30GB+ to get it to under 20? Or are they clocking in above 50GB uncompressed, and monstrously getting that bad boy down to 18 & change?

I think it's undeniable that Madden has room for improvement in the visuals department, & the animations department.

18GB seems like an uncompressed ps3 game. Not necessarily something teeming with high end textures that will make you drop your jaw and look for someone to slap out of sheer amazement.
