Is there a clutch when shifting or is it just straight paddle shifting/slap shift ?

You can choose to have a manual clutch.

I need a driving school course for dummies or something. Times are hard over here, boys. Lol. I did manage to squeeze out a win in one race against the computer, though. Progress.

Online is a blast. I seem to get spun out at some point in every race, but it's good times when you're in the middle of the pack and trying to hold your own. I'm either breaking too early or too late. I've gotta figure this out. Maybe once I start learning more of the tracks, I'll improve. I don't want to play with the racing line on.

Most tracks have signs on either the left or right hand side giving you the distance until the turn. Practice braking at certain signs and see what happens. After awhile you know exactly where to brake regardless of track and car.

This game is tough. Usually drove manual w/clutch on Forza, but man... This game is working me over on Pro.

debating picking this up for Xbox one. For those with X1 do you know if they dropped a patch yet? Word on the street was that they had a patch coming that would increase x1 performance by 4-7% and fix steering issues. Want to check with people on this.

P.S. Could people please put which console they are playing the game on when providing impressions(pc/ps4,etc)?

Heard things about the X1 version and the patch. Has anyone heard anything? Could be the reason why I'm all over the place. I know I suck at racing games, but I didn't think I was this bad.

XB1 patch is with MS awaiting clearance.

Patch Notes:

FIXED ISSUES FOR PATCH

- Issue where cars would garage into closed garages in Zolder
- Console TT is now set to 11am to match PC
- Re-enabled saving of Community ghosts
- Added ABS brake rumble to XB1 triggers
- Changed XB1 pad rumble to only update during the per frame tick and not at 600hz
- Use absolute acceleration values for blending and updating steering movement to prevent negative direction
- XB1 trigger rumble scaled along with FFB rumble. XB1 analogue stick range corrected to use full extent
- The driver can no longer be switched in MP races and time trials
- Fix for NULL pointer protection when accessing ProximityDetector GUI
