Re: Project CARS Available Now For Xbox One & PlayStation 4, Post Your Impressions

Hate the situation I'm in right now....my lap times seem almost identical no matter whether I use manual or auto. I want to have a reason to use manual, but if I'm getting the same times on auto there's no point....

I suppose it's good in a way that the auto shifting is good enough that it can match my own.

Leaning towards using ABS as it's really the only thing I have issues with generally - locking up the brakes is really easy to do on a controller. Still haven't seen a reason to change the controller setup though - love the feel of the cars.

Man, I was doing random time trials and vehicles and found a good match.

Nurburgring Sprint | Prototype | Marek (559 HP)

That car is phenomenal. Feels good that it doesn't spin out constantly.

Anybody using a different FOV than the defaults? What about Speed Sensitivity settings? Not sure if I like this on or off.
Really enjoying this game so far. I think I need to swallow my pride and lower AI difficulty. I am currently at 80 running single custom events and always finish in the bottom 5.

Anyone using a racing wheel on PS4? If so, which wheel and does it have force feedback? I feel that is required if I shell out for a wheel.

I have the thrustmaster t-80 but there is no force feedback but I still am enjoying my experience with it. I know the higher end wheels have force feedback but I'm not willing to shell out hundreds of dollars as I'm a more casual racer. Here in canada I paid $135 after tax at best buy. This is my first wheel in alot a years dating back to turbo on colecovision in the 80's.

I remember the older wheels back in the days were tough to get a realistic feel with and I ended up with a lot of sawing back and forth. Does it feel "realistic" when using the T80.

I saw the T80 and its in my price range, but I'm looking more along the lines of the T300RS for features.

Yeah it's all preference & what you're after. If I could afford the higher end wheels I would have got that instead but the t-80 fit's my wallet. Yeah I think it has a realistic feel to it but no force feedback will probably disappoint most. The wheel doesn't have as large a rotation as the higher end ones but still fine. The pedals are all plastic & do tend to slide a bit depending the carpet it's on. The wheel has rubber grip on the sides as well. For the price it does the job so I'm happy. Remember I'm more casual so others with more wheel experience will have more gripes with it.

Anyone else finding it really hard to be consistent with a controller? Also, I think I can do without the spotter. He always seems to break my concentration.

This lap visually describes why this game is so freakin' good.
