This is largely due to the already limited number of cars spread even thinner across the numerous classes. This means that you are all too often racing against a field of just 1 or 2 different makes of car & sometimes just 1 model is available in some classes. You can open up races to all classes but this takes away a lot of the realism. I love the idea of pitting different models of cars against one another but as it stands their isn't a great deal of scope on offer to do so.

The number of Tracks on offer are far more plentiful. The number & variety on offer should keep everyone satisfied.

The quality of visuals on the PS4 is as expected of a very high quality. There are however some occasional glitches. Interestingly for a console game Graphics effects can be switched on/off although I've not played around with these to see if they make any obvious changes to the visual experience.

The ability to alter settings in Project Cars is one of its most stand out features. In regards to being able to adjust controller sensitivity the feature is of paramount importance. On default settings playing with a standard controller is like skating on ice. One touch & the car pulls harshly in that direction. Adjusting the settings brings things to a more manageable level although cars feel a lot lighter/looser than those on Forza. I honestly feel the game was developed with an emphasis on using a steering wheel controller.

Driver AI seems okay but it is far too early to make any accurate judgement on this. I have noticed the AI cars have no inhibitions in driving into you which can be frustrating especially with there being no rewind function in the game. Mechanical Failures are a part of the game but whether these affect AI cars or just user controlled cars I am yet to see. I did experience an Engine Blowout in one race. A strange thing I've noticed so far is that barriers seem to have an almost magnetic effect on the car in that when you hit them it seems overly hard to steer away. This particularly seems to affect Karts.

As it stands I'll probably give Project Cars a 7 out of 10. It does however have the potential to be much better. A couple of patches & an expansion to the field of cars & this game could stand out as the leader in its genre. As it stands I still favour Forza.
Forza is a pure arcade title and this is a sim. You can't compare these 2.
As a sim it needs/requires a wheel if you're playing without assists.
I personally (as a backer of the project) sent feedback/recommendation to SMS not to implement a Rewind option.
The handling/driving model already had a downgrade.
I'm against paying huge amounts of money to Ferrari etc for licenses. I didn't support the devs for this purpose. I gave them money to make a pure sim driving videogame.
As I see around the web most console owners bash the game and this is really disappointing. SMS should have stayed away from a console release.

PS4 has the suspend & resume option which is sorta like a save so I wonder if that feature will work on this game.

on the PC version, since the last game update, it crashes just about everytime you start a new race. you can reload and then run the race, but the next race, you start to load it, it crashes again.

hasn't done it in a middle of a race or anything, so it's not terrible. just loading screens.

I have a PS4 & will be getting that version of the game. I enjoy all types of racing games arcade, sim or a balance. Plus this game has loads of options so a person can make it easier if they choose to by adjusting difficulty & assists. I usually use a controller & like you said assists are a must but I may pick up a wheel soon.

I've been using the DS4 on PC with no assists at all. It's tough, but I can't bring myself to use any haha. I really need a wheel again, though. I miss having one, and now that I actually have a great racing game again, it makes sense to own one again.

I am a console only owner and have been dying for a game like this. Sick of the proliferation of arcade titles. So this console owner will be praising it.

But I totally get your point.

Forza is certainly not purely arcade. It is more sim than arcade.

Project Cars is more sim but that doesnt make Forza arcade.

Re: Project CARS Available Now For PC, Post Your Impressions

I found strange that given all the options this game offers to the user they didn't implemented a rewind feature. That feature is very popular in most of the racing games in recent years. I hope they add it in a future patch. If you don't like to use it, simply turn it off.

The goal of this game is to recreate the feeling of being a race car driver, but also is to offer a vast amount of options to attract casual racing fans.

I believe it will only add value to the game.
