Great philosophy, and one of the reasons why golf is one of my favorite sports games ever.

You won't be disappointed man. You have almost limitless courses to play, and millions of online scores to compete against. A buddy of mine recently got the game, and I can't explain how much fun it is to have someone I know personally to compete against, even if he's played his round hours or days earlier. Conversely, it's awesome to get a random text from him like "Nice putt on 15 at Magnolia". Some people complain about the inability to upgrade your golfer, but that's the beauty of the game to me. It puts everyone on a level playing field online.

But most of all, it's an incredibly realistic game of golf. The putting is very challenging, and in my opinion the sensitivity of the swing stick is perfect. Some rounds I'm hitting it great, some rounds I'm spraying it everywhere, but you can feel the difference when you aren't swinging well and it can get in your head.

Can someone give us some insight on the season mode?

One thing about season mode is you can only play HB courses only. Which is a surprise. Hopefully that will change. Still on the fence about the DLC.

Can someone explain to me the concept of ghosts playing with you? How are they selected for you? Before you play a round is their score posted for that course and when they played? A bit confused thanks.

A ghost is someones past archived round on a particular course. Each shot they played (could be 2 hours ago our 2 months ago) is saved in a database, when you select to play against a particular ghost those saved shots are referenced from the Db and displayed on screen. You know the final score of each ghost prior to starting your round, but when the round plays out you each progress hole-by-hole on the scorecard. It's a really slick system.

You have various options regarding selecting ghost opponents; total global score, friends scores, your prior scores etc. I believe the game attempts to match you with "similar" skilled ghosts (not sure of the exact logic here).

I really love the concept, as it represents playing against an actual human player instead of some generated AI results. It basically allows you to play against online opponents without the hassle of having to find an opponent and all the other associated online multiplayer BS. One of my favorite aspects is building up a person history on a specific course (I've played Augusta at least 15 times), and I can select to play against my prior best rounds.
