A yearly release cycle IMO is terrible, it results in rushed, glitch filled games that have little to no beta testing and require numerous patches to obtain what should be a "finished" product. It's all based on grabbing as much money as possible for EA each year. Wash, rinse & repeat.

A non-yearly title could work well for golf though, because EA could charge for content updates in the form of overpriced courses and licensed equipment.

Agreed. Build an engine (Frostbite 3) that is scalable and capable of handling updates and upgrades, then build content to add to the immersion of the game. Offering course packs, player and/or equipment packs for DLC is what I am expecting. A Course Architect would go a long ways towards increasing playability like TGC and PP offer.....
