GO FIDDY!!!!
Agreed. Throw Shogun into that list as well, as long as he gets a case of beer with it to. With all of the editing Shogun and SimpleMathematics (and the rest of the Revamped team) have done they spend time trying to fix the areas that EA fails to improve. Just based off the man hours of editing that's reason enough to send them. I'm probably like Fiddy though. If I talked to those developers I may have a tendency to go awol if they say something I don't like. That's not my personality at all but this game has frustrated me to no end that it's just hit that point.

Re: NHL Community Committee

1. How long have you been playing EASHL? What is your favorite part about the mode?

I played EASHL from it's arrival in NHL 09 and stopped with NHL 13. My favorite part about the mode is that it's just make the game of hockey plain fun when you play with the right people. EASHL is just the kind of mode that has the most ressemblance with the tournaments we had in the basement when we we're 10-12 guys waiting in line to play next.

Last few years though, I've been playing more with making 6 clubs with the best players in the NHL and playing every game while taking a schedule of a 6-teams NHL season of the 50's. With the best players in the game, NHL 13 and 14 were more enjoyable than most modes we're there was shortcomings.

2. As part of the NHL Community Committee, what part of the mode would you like to directly influence?

If I was on the committee, I would like to have a say on AI and the way the game plays overall. My main grief about the EASHL is that it rewards people playing cheap hockey while people trying to play real hockey suffers because the game punish them for not playing "arcady" hockey. There's now way it should be easier in this game to deke out of it's skates a d-man then past a softie behind the goalie with another deke while scoring on a 2 on 0 is tough like crazy because every goalies act like they are made of rubber.

3. What makes you the ideal candidate for this committee?

I'm not an ideal candidate, not even close and I won't pretend it's the case. I understand the pressure of selling a game and that the market for hockey is smaller than it is for football or soccer, but there's something wrong with the NHL game for last few years.

On the other hand, I've been following hockey since I'm 4. I watch every type of hockey, NHL, AHL, CHL, US College Hockey, etc. I attend Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament every year since 1988 to watch the young stars of tomorrow. International hockey is also on the list. Watching Spengler Cup, IIHF Junior Tournament, World Championship. In may, I'll be in Quebec for the Memorial Cup.

Will I pretend I know hockey more than most people? No, I won't say that. What makes me different from most people who watch hockey is that I don't watch the game for the spectacular plays or a team winning. I watch for the details, things I've never saw and the system use by teams to get an edge.

I can't help myself hitting my head on the desk when playing Be A Pro as a D-Man and see for the last three years simulating for next shift and my guy jumping on the ice while we don't have the puck and it's in our own zone. Just that part makes me wonder what the hell is going on in Vancouver for this thing to be there.

Like Fiddy, I won't say I'm an ideal candidate for this committee because this game provided me too many frustrating moments for the last few years to make me as objective I could be, although I'm only hoping that NHL gets back to what it has been for me when I was younger, a way to get me smiling and have fun with friends.

I am sorry missed this. I am a software engineer passionate about video games who spent countless hours of my free time developing video game editors for sports games to allow end users to do things the developers couldn't get in. I am also an avid hockey fan (parents from Finland) with a degree in physics and mathematics who has been working in the software engineering (not games) industry for the last 19 years.

Finn should definitely get to be a part of this with his history of editors, and specifically the NHL 2k editor. His contributions overall to the hockey gaming community over the past decade have been substantial.

Re: NHL Community Committee

Where was I during this thread? Man, I just saw it. Oh well. Back to my beers and attribute edits....

Hopefully there is a Community Committee for offline play. That is where my editing comes in. I like EASHL but post edit in 14 with the full goalie and -30 edit sans patch, plays like a new game.

Bwiggy, thanks for the plug earlier. I just read through all the posts in this thread. Cool that EA is going to work with the fans. Fingers crossed for an offline Community. Hopefully they are tolerant of beers, rants and player edits.
