Which, when the A.I. does it at least, allow me to tip it or something. I believe you alluded to this before where your input on square/X is totally ignored and a pass goes right through you, even though you're in position.

Live is going to succeed in the future on giving the user ultimate control, especially compared to 2K. So things like this just can't happen.

My 6 hour trial is almost up, not sure if I'm actually going to buy or not yet. Online experience has been far from good, which is sad after they took jabs at 2k and their servers.

My last game was extremely laggy, to the point it was unplayable. Thankfully my opponent agreed to quit the game without it counting towards our records. I go back to search for another head 2 head game which took forever. 20 minutes later I'm connected to the same person, wtf. Are we the only two people trying to play? It was still laggy, though slightly better but my game crashed a couple minutes into the first. gg.

Pretty disappointed.

I would also say PGs in this game block too many lay ups and shots in the paint. Even those with block shots ratings in the 40s, they are blocking too many shots. Same thing with on ball defense, defenders with low on ball defense rating are sticking to you way too good.

I would like them to increase the mid range game. From what I noticed the CPU still get the bulk of their points in the paint. If they broaden the coach options for offense and let the USER prioritize plays in the playbook for the CPU, this game would be 20 times better.

Don't like the CPU coach for the USER auto changes your settings to BS settings that make no sense. I noticed this late last night when I was playing the Rockets. I had guard Dwight on ball and off ball as tight. Then the Rockets went on a run 3 minutes later with Dwight non stop. I called another time out to see what was up with that. I looked and the Coach changed guard Dwight on ball and off ball as loose. They did the same thing with Harden.

I was like no wonder they were able to go on a run, my own damn coach changed my defensive settings. I feel as though they change it on offense too. Because there are many times in the second half it seems like crash boards no longer works for your team. And those are usually the times where the CPU wants to get back in the game.
THIS!

Do I think EA is on the right track with the game? Well I wont say yes as a "blanket" observation of the game because then you start to give EA license to do what they are notorious for with some of their sports titles.. laziness and complacency (or maybe its just lack of developer chops?).

GRAPHICALLY the game is on the right track as I feel overall GRAPHICALLY it's now the best looking basketball video game on the market. Keep in mind that graphics and "animations" are not the same thing.

Animation wise they are NOT on the right track. Its a few steps up from Live 14 but I wonder if the base built as the model for this games players bodies, joint points, etc is going to keep them boxed in and we just see slight tweaks to animations for the rest of this generation.

Audio wise I can't say they are moving in the right direction or not simply because the audio isnt really different from last year. What I mean is that it is and it isnt. I don't see any kind of strides or innovations made here.

Gameplay wise again, cant say wether they are moving in the right direction or not because what most of us want in a basketball game gameplay wise Live 15 throws up a brick.. Live 14 was an airball. See what I'm saying? Sure the brick at least hit the goal, but its still not a score.

What I'm afraid of is you have some people on this board in this thread championing the heck out of Live rather than speak on both sides of the coin. Too many pats on the back for EA's Live 15 effort is going to net you (pardon the pun). Live 15.1 Live 15.2 Live 15.3 and Live 15.4 for the next 3-4 years and i don't think any of us want that.

We have a game that is half NBA and half NBA Street.

A game whose best feature IMO was it's top replays system, halftime show and post game show not working since the Day 1 update.

Still no updated roster.

Still missing some updated uniforms.

True no game will be perfect or bug free, but you eliminate sliders, playbook editor and roster edits from your game, you are severely handicapping the USER experience. Instead you are telling your customers to have blind faith in Synergy and your updates. I mean if you want us to completely rely on you, then you need to have more open dialogue with the masses on these public forums, asking and seeking feedback of what is right and what is wrong. Then you need to have the capability to tune these things in a more timely manner.

Grant it, Synergy is slowly making the game play better. But then the question becomes, is it too slow and too small of a gradual improvement ? I guess this is the debate EA suits be having everyday....
They have diffuclty developing a BB game with Sliders.. the O'brien dude even stated something to that effect in an interview with Polygon. Synergy is the bone they are throwing you to look the other way while they mask the fact that they don't have development chops to build a basketball game where sliders can be user tweaked to fix gamplay the way the user wants it. Obrien was right though, it IS hard to develop a sports title and then do it in a way that the programming allows for sliders to basically tweak parts of the programming they have already put in the game. But since other basketball games are doing it, and so is Madden, Fifa, and other sports titles it makes Live's effort smack of either laziness, complacency or a little of both. Bottom line is they are acting like a politican again. "Look at this shiny thing over here...." Synergy is a distraction to keep you from thinking about other things that should be in the game but they didnt do it are just aren't talented enough to do so.

CMH thank you for that post....

That is quite a list of things to ignore if you are a SIM fan of the series.

Hopefully, EA will continue to make gameplay improvements over the coming weeks because I'm sure there are still tons of people out there like myself who wants to buy the game but are holding out to see what additions/improvements they can make with added patches for gameplay.

Sliders would be my #1 prioity for this years game but that is likely impossible from what i've been hearing.

After my last post enjoying the changes, the next game you will have the opposite and frustration.

Same teams, Miami (me) at Cleveland and the player tendencies and positions are all wrong. Why has Norris Cole been posting up on the block a ton this game. Some of it it head scratching. LeBron more active but Varejao playing with his back to the basket and spinning and shaking every 2-3 times down the floor. Cleveland not missing any threes or under the basket shots.

Funny though I got Bosh in two situations somehow where the animation for him was a right hand shot. I thought an issue with the animation once but it happened twice, lol.

You feel like they were close to not providing the ultimate experience but providing a solid outing. Unfortunately all combined for me leaves it short. We harp on it but user customisation is huge and combined with the on court issues (which may be fine tuned), it just leaves the game lacking.

Its not bad but there is way to mich ugly going on. Fast breaks looks awful and every player running at the same speed is not good.

Dribble moves pushing me forward.

All in all the game is just extremely basic. Wait a few days until the 50% bonus sales end.

Im trying but the 5v5 doesnt look great.

Re: NBA Live 15 and First In-Game Update Available Today, Post Your Impressions

So the only defensive settings are:

Full court press
2-3 zone
3-2 zone
Man

Then you have pack the paint, press shooters and focus on stars. What happened to half court press, half court trap and full court trap ?

And do we really need 4 automatic signature size up moves along with automatic size up button ? At times I feel that size up button, which is also the turbo button causes a delay in you making your player actually sprint. Sprint button isn't 100% responsive. Instead of an instant burst, your player jogs. This is really evident when I pass it to one of my wing players who is 1 on 1 with nobody behind the defender. I be wanting to cut the corner and drive around the defender, but instead of getting a speed burst, I get a jog trot.

Same thing when I have clear lane to the basket, I be pressing the stick towards the rim along with the other appropriate buttons trying to dunk but instead my player stops and does a bad release jump shot from 3 feet away from the rim instead. I get the same delay or no animation what so ever on block and rebound attempts half of the time.

So EA saying responsive controls isn't true at all.
