For example, if I have feed the post selected and I'm not going there but just shooting at will would I have greater success matching my actions on offense to the POE in effect say by feeding the post and then throwing it out and then shooting at will? Basically does the POE in effect matter in the success of my shot making? Understanding of course the defense I'm facing matters.
Good ? Coach. It is mostly the game situation more than a matching of your POE actions. If you selected feed the post but had several wide open shots regardless of how you got them I still think that would benefit you.

On the flip side...

What I find, and this is just me with my experience with the game. Is that if I get too comfortable just swinging the ball, taking what the defense gives me, without a focused offensive approach, I turn into a jump shooting team and wonder why I am loosing.

Especially when playing a team with great offensive rebounding.

So it's like yeah I'm running the swing motion and all. But I'm only getting jumpers. Over the course of 48 minutes it is hard to beat the AI on superstar sim with no points in the paint or FT's.

This was a great vid and I really liked how it showed the spurs offense top notch, this game I can't wait to get

as well it should be many coaches IRL make defensive consessions. Alwing teams to take the lowest %. I like the hearing this! perhaps running some no midde ice defense could be pretty nice vs. Users in quick match.

I just record me playing the game and look for what the AI was able to do against me.

There are multiple loop plays depending on the set (player alignment) we also have branches that only kick off if the user attempts to deny certain options.

When you find yourself in a set where we have excellent coverage as far as AI solutions for user tactics it definitely get's interesting.

For those that pay attention to that kind of stuff I have several "easter eggs" hidden for the AI in all sorts of sets.

That is just offset by the fact that the game is HUGE and I couldn't cover every thing every where with that kind of depth.

The challenge is with as many plays and set's as we have to get full coverage everywhere.

So if we only shipped 20 plays for each time those 20 would be ROBUST. LOL

I am glad you kept it in the video. It gave me the sense of a real Spurs possession. The branching is exactly what plenty of people asked for so I am glad it is in there. The game is just so deep can't wait to get my copy

Since you've mentioned superstar as the level tweaked for sim settings, does the CPU still get rating boosts on higher difficulties? That was kind of a problem with 2k14 and running plays...on superstar/hof, midrange and 3pt plays were used somewhat better by CPU teams, but you had a tradeoff regarding overly aggressive driving and rating boosts (some not changeable with sliders iirc...shot off dribble/in traffic I think?). In the end, Pro/All Star was more balanced regarding CPU driving and ratings, with the downside of more plays not working out that well.
So will the AI handle the new freelance stuff and normal set plays well on all settings or is it somewhat tied to difficulty levels and their hard coded rating advantages and tendency changes?

Mango we need much more basketball in the games before difficulty level is built on smarter basketball. We have to build out all or a lot more of the basketball decisions that the game currently does not have. That is a major undertaking but something that I really want to do once we can.

This year by tuning to superstar sim we tried to make that the level that even with any AI boosts is the most fair while still being the most challenging.

You guys will determine for us if we made it and obviously most of you play on custom sliders etc anyway to that may be tuff to get feedback on.

HOF is still AI enhancement. and the user shooting difficulty is tough on that level. I focused most of my play time and effort on superstar sim.

So I can't speak for HOF because I spent as much time as possible on Superstar throughout the process. It is difficult but fair at least for the way I play.

On all star I can not pay attention for several possessions and still win a good percentage of my games. On superstar even a few unfocused possessions can make it difficult for me to win (matchup dependant of course) At the end of games I don't see crazy high cpu points in the paint but they are more aggressive.

The game kind of reacts to you in a sense though so what you see depends on your inputs.

So if your a pressure everywhere type of guy the AI is going to hit you with back-doors.

If the AI's POE is attack the basket that is where they are going to go until you can stop it.

If you crash the offensive boards and don't get them your going to take a beating in transition buckets or wind your best players turboing back on defense every possession.

That is stuff I have noticed while I play on Superstar SIM but the game is so reactive that I can see someone trying to pressure and pissed that the AI scored the majority of it's points in the paint.

Or deny's everyone everywhere and is then pissed because they get beat off the bounce and there is no help.

I can't guarantee you it is perfect because it's not but it is certainly much improved and up to superstar you should be able to play without constantly feeling cheated.

There are times where the AI just flat plays good D and you have to force up a shot you didn't want to.

I don't use sliders so expect feedback from me on Superstar. Give me a month or so gotta get enough games in.

I'm a little late to the party, but does this mean we'll have more freelance tendencies for individual players and possibly for teams as well?
