I think this is where you are misunderstanding the intent.

It isn't an advantage for the user. It's an acceleration balance so that 50/50 balls are 50/50.

I have never heard anyone call it a 60/40 ball or 55/45 ball.

Personally any slider changes I make are purely to level the playing field. If my team is 73/70/71 and the CPU is 74/70/72 then we should have a pretty even fight here on the pitch.

Also if the odds of the cpu winning every 50/50 ball are greater because of getting the jump on your players, the passing and possession stats get bloated in the cpu's favor.

At the end of the day, we are all wrestling with what this game is to us so nobody is right and nobody is wrong. If I like accel for the cpu on 48 and you like it on 50...who really cares?

I get what you were saying and the reasoning behind it, I just disagree with it being necessary. But in the end it doesn't matter what I think about how you play the game lol. Sliders are a way to tailor difficulty and game style to your personal tastes, and if using unbalanced speed sliders does that for you then cool!
My only point was that there is no artificial speed boost built into the game that allows slower players to keep up with faster ones.

I think it is playing great this year. I might even say its a better game than PES.

I have been seating and searching for info on why GK kicking is so underpowered. This goes for all years of FIFA and has never been amended. I would of thought that this would be the year to get keepers sorted as they are such a back of the box highlight. What I mean is that even at full power, goal kicks are nearly reaching the halfway line.

The other issue is the way they feed the ball out to players after catching. Players don't seem to get far enough up the pitch and if you kick upfield it simply goes to the opposition as no-one is far enough up the pitch.

If anything, the goal kicks need boosting and the drop kicks/kick out of hands need to be lowered/tweaked to see players into the oppositions half of the pitch.

Anyone got any fix for this as I have seen this go untouched for almost the entirety of the FIFA franchise.

I thought I would post a video to give people an idea of the changes to career mode. Apologies for the audio, not really sure why it's low during the in-game footage.. Hope you enjoy.

In FIFA14 the CPU never seemed to sprint all out, they were always a shade below me on top end speed it seemed. Yet they still were eerily able to win the higher percentage of 50/50 balls. My final slider set for FIFA14 game the CPU an advantage in SPEED.

In FIFA15 I feel that the CPU, at least on PRO, is able to out sprint me. Either their accelerate quicker (which is why I have a slider set that reduces CPU Acceleration -2) or I'm just not familiar enough with the new game to know how to win those important 50/50 balls.

If you think that the CPU (even on PRO) doesn't have an advantage in burst to the ball then perhaps my controller is broken, we're playing vastly different matchups in teams, or you are just a far superior stick jockey compared to me.

And honestly, I'm not sure how much of an effect that moving a slider one or two notches up or down really truly makes. I know you're in the camp that loves to believe that setting line height from 50 to 51 completely changes the game, but I've yet to see a game made by EA that behaves this way (usually drastic measures are necessary to see any effect whatsoever).

At the end of the day, for me to get what I feel like is a nice even matchup I have to sink the CPU Acc -2. Of course I did throttle arsenal 4-1 with my Spurs, so maybe I need to rethink this a bit.

The thing that bodes well is A) this is an uppatched version we are playing & B) I feel it already plays much better than FIFA14, so with the optimum slider config this could be a truly outstanding game.

I got a retail copy and so far my problems are the keepers seem to give up way too many rebounds on low shots and the pitch wear may be a tad overdone. It is better than Fifa 14 but not sure how much I will play once PES comes out. It is better than the demo for sure which is good because I didn't like the demo that much.

I was watching the Villa/Arsenal game earlier today, and I actually noticed how much the pitch getting beat up looked like the FIFA 15 demo with streaks and divots. Never really noticed it in real life before.

Re: FIFA 15 Early Access Available Now Through EA Access with a 6 Hour Limit

I have been playing the 360 version more because of it being untimed so take this with a grain of salt...

#1 I feel both 360 and the one versions play very similar. The one is superior in fluidity and animation count of course.

#2 because the 360 is untimed I just spent a whole match RS'ing all over the place as an experiment. The results were spectacular. When I say RS everywhere I mean it. Defense, midfield, attack, all over the place. Even if it is just a ball roll. What it does quite simply is change angles. And when you change angles boy does the CPU hate it.

Say you have the ball as the CB and want to pass out to the RM or over to the RB. Well this year, the CPU just loves to press all over the pitch. So they hedge the passing lanes they know exist. This game is programmed like every video game. So you see the CPU playing to intercept your pass to the RM. Just ball roll to "change" the passing lane and enjoy freely connecting your pass with less cpu harassment.
If I was to pass to the right side I would just ball roll right and create the new lane.

I started creating so many new lanes all over the pitch the CPU lost its mind. They had no idea where the ball was going to be.

Now, this may not work on NG as I have only done it on 360. But all the other game coding has felt very similar to the NG version so I don't see why it won't.
