Re: NHL 15 Available Now for PS4 and Xbox One - Post Your Impressions Here

Listen, we are all getting off topic here. This thread is to post impressions of the game. If you do not agree with someone's impressions then you are not wrong, but to keep rehashing that you like or dislike the game in spite of what is being shown or posted is not productive and doesn't fit the purpose of this thread.

I am sorry to those of you that I have upset with posting my impressions and reasons for them. I don't know what to tell you other than to please just ignore me. I don't mean to ruffle your feathers. Obviously I find lots of faults and flaws in the NHL series. I don't feel as though these should not be brought to light or pointed out, however.

If you are having fun with the game, which is totally acceptable, I have found that it is probably best to step away from the forums for a bit or at the very least be very selective in what you click and read or watch. Otherwise it is easy to realize all that is negative in this game and perhaps highlights it in even more of a fashion than what would've been otherwise.

I end this with a point that I have made before; If you like what you are playing that is great, you get to keep playing it and have fun. I am envious. But if you are like me and stuck with a less than stellar product that you feel just doesn't meet up to the industry standards, and not even the standards in my own head but that of those that are of precedent not only within other video games but prior NHL products themselves, then your only recourse is to speak out in the hopes of being heard and that one day your problems will be touched upon and improved. Because being around this industry enough has taught me that without the fan feedback these games may never change.

Have a good day.

Lol, that's so condescending. "Stay away from the forums so you won't realize that the game sucks!"

But as Three King said, it's fine that some people don't like it and are voicing that. There are parts of the game I don't like, and it's obviously important to have a discourse about those things. The constant negativity and EA bashing just gets old.

Not worried at all, but the only reason I stated that, is because it seems like there are some guys who keep repeating the same things over and over, or are complaining just to complain. It's like, 'we get it'.

There's plenty of negatives about this game that I'm aware of:

-missing modes
-AI is HORRIBLE
-gameplay graphics are not what they should be. Cutscenes are good.
-already have seen a few annoying bugs
-penalties seem decent, but need to be tweaked.
-Etc.

Positives:

+actual gameplay keeps me coming back.
+sliders are working for the most part.
+PUCK PHYSICS!!!
+presentation is flat out awesome
+etc.

All those positives could obviously use work, but I'm willing to see what these devs do with their patches. That's why I won't bash this game. At least not yet. Gameplay is too good right now for me not to.

Having said all that, there's ALWAYS room for improvement.

I'm sorry, that wasn't my intent at all.

I was stating that from a personal perspective of having to work at fan forums for years that I have found that it is sometimes best to get away from the feedback.

I know firsthand that from moderating all of the bugs/glitches threads in games like Madden that I would often find things from their postings that I may have never seen or realized on my own. Then once you see it you can't go back. It weighs on you and it can ruin your experience.

I learned that if I somewhat like a game, take MLB the Show for instance this year, that it is usually best to step away and just play and enjoy it. And only post or look for things that help you to solve problems or issues in your enjoyment. That game has plenty wrong with it and when you start reading everyone saying those things all day then it makes you either defensive of the game that is not perfect, or makes you enjoy your experience less because you either realize more than before or you think you are wrong for having your personal opinions on it.

But I know from talking to developers that the feedback is needed and appreciated if it is constructive. If there is a bug they want to know about it. But if it doesn't affect me I may not want to keep reading about it and get upset when it is brought up in every thread, sure. And since I can't control that happening I found that it was just best for to get away for a bit and come back for news that pertained to me.

That is what I meant and I am sorry if you took it personal. I am a hockey fan and player and just want the best experience like all of you guys.

Hi I play on the ps4 and the graphics were also lacking but just like MLBTS I had to adjust my TV and after that it looked almost as good as madden and always start with video game viewing settings on my TV .

They changed it this year to where shootout attempts are always against a CPU goalie, even if you're playing a 1 vs. 1 online game.
