I knew before the start about the missing mode. It doesn't bother me as much. For a game that was build from the ground up it still play a lot like previous iterations.

Its not all bad though. I still play every night so I guess I either like it subconsciously or I am glutton for punishment. Either way

In the middle of dominating a HUT game and the application crashes with one of those CE errors. I feel bad for people who actually put additional $ into this game/mode. Had an undefeated record until the game decided to give me a loss via the game crashing. Cute.

NHL 15 Available Now for PS4 and Xbox One - Post Your Impressions Here

I have no problem with guys bitching and complaining. Go ahead and make your voice heard. But you can't also be surprised at the amount of people actually enjoying the game.

Also, the nonsense about how "casual" fans would enjoy this more, is a bunch of garbage. I've been going to Blackhawks games since the early 80's, and I've played hockey all the way into my 30's. So please spare me with that.

The missing modes on next-gen and basically the direct port to last-gen are obviously unacceptable, but the most important aspect which is GAMEPLAY, is pretty damn good.

I'm also not going to write a novel, nor provide videos to prove my point. I'm too busy enjoying the game. Thanks.

Well stated.

The "this game just appeals to the casual fan" line always annoys me, too. I'm a huge hockey fan, I just know what to expect from the game, and I've always enjoyed playing it.

I just don't think this crusade against EA is productive. It's like people seriously think the devs don't want to release the best game they possibly can.
Because there is no other hockey to buy.....When EA killed the PC version that we modded and made the way we wanted to (which means so can they) we were left with little choice than to play this or nothing. That being said I can deal with it not being perfect I usually find sliders to make it good enough to play and enjoy a season but this half assed effort they released is just a joke a total joke......again its not even about the missing modes the laziness or lack of care is just noticeable everywhere with this game. We can agree to disagree.

That is all fine and great, but you also seem more worried about people posting specific, detailed examples of their impressions that do not fit into what you are seeing with your experiences than you are in actually going off and playing/enjoying the game, from what I can tell.

You really need to go get a cpu sim hockey game and drop it already with your agenda type attitude as you dont speak for many accept a few hardcores as most of us here are Hardcore NHL but its a video game of hockey and not a forced sim you have no little input in.

If you want mlbts on ice forget it as EA NHL 15 is a hu interactive game first and sim doesnt strongly override that so what you do on the ice really matters and win or lose it feels pretty amazing IF YOU FIND YOUR SLIDERS AND SKILL LEVEL .

What your looking for is strat o matic hockey great stats and nothing but random dice rolls and I think its on cpu too now so once again this is a impressions thread so if you have a agenda or ax to grind call EA or go to there website and stop trying to scare everyone off of the game as we all know of its mode short comings as some of us just want to enjoy the game .

I'm not surprised at all that people are liking it....Hell if I just mess with some sliders and do a play now I can have fun with it. I also have nothing against anyone liking it casual or hardcore. That's what this thread is and its good to get both impressions of the game. I guess to sum up my beef is I like to do more than just a play now and I keep trying to accept it for what it is and find a way to enjoy somewhat of what I have been used too since NHL2001, which is doing a season. with that mode gone I keep trying to find a way around it in BeaGM but everyday I find something else that's just not going to let that be possible. Also if were all honest about it, despite knowing about the missing modes and no matter how much you may like the game play and how it looks, its simplistic contents had to be a surprise to you. I don't think any of us saw this coming.
