Their options are to either continue improving the formula, or start from scratch so that in a few years the game will reach a level that was previously not possibld due to the game engine.
Or, they could do what they're doing now...refining the current engine with little gameplay tweaks here and there and develop another engine behind the scenes until it's ready to be implemented.

I feel like 2K has the time and money to work on something like this without having to hurt their product like what happened to Live.

I think the game's engine is solid, they just need to reach the same level of refinement they had in 2K14 for 360/PS3. I feel like next gen was a little slow on the responsiveness and it only got worse when you went online.

If they focus on refining the gameplay, adding modes/adding to the modes we already have, and having stable servers 2K never has to worry about competition.

I think we're all so spoiled by 2K that we expect too much when we have a very good game in front of us.

...And no I'm no fanboy, I can point out a ton of issues but I also understand the work that's put into these games year in year out lol.
Completely agree with the spoiled comment. The game has been one of the best sports titles year in and year out however that causes all of its faults and imperfections to be highlighted and critiqued, no matter how big or small the issue is.

The trouble with 2k, and sports games in general, is that we look at the games on a year to year basis instead of judging games individually. If we look at 2k15 without considering and comparing it to 2k14 or any other 2k basketball title the game looks like a fantastic recreation of basketball and the nba. Not perfect but great. However when the other installment are taken into account we start breaking down how much or how little the game changed, what problems have or have not been fixed, whats new vs whats old. And as a result we don't enjoy the game for what it is, we criticize it for what it isn't.

Didn't really see anything new. Not really no new animations or anything. Seems like 2K14 so far.

Again, I am happy I skipped 2K14 because the graphics and gameplay will all be new to me. But from the YT vids I watched, looks pretty much the same. Can't wait to hear more about other modes though.

And, I always thought the arm sleeves pad was a little too big.

Exactly, if you take other games that come out every 2 or 3 years like Battlefield, Gears of War, Halo...stuff like that, you get a clear picture of how far the graphics have come and gameplay improvements.

Take 2K9 then look at (what people usually say is the best) 2K11, crazy difference.
The past couple last gen games (2K13/14) basically pushed the limits of the consoles so there wasn't gonna be a graphical difference but now you got next gen consoles with so much more power the sky's the limit.

It would be cool as hell to have like connected franchise/myplayer like in Madden, that's the only thing I really want them to add..besides bringing crew back lol

I give 2K credit because the only game imo that took a step back is 2K12, every other game off the top of my head has been an improvement. Most companies can't say that.

I didn't read all of the comments yet, but I don't know how anyone can say "it looks the same" in a negative way. 2K last year not only set the next gen bar graphically for sports games, it was arguably the show piece for next gen visuals across the board. You probably won't see drastic art or graphical changes on that until 2K17 and they shouldn't over haul it until then in my opinion. I remember these boards a year ago, before and after release, where people were saying things like all they needed to do was add modes and features for the next couple of years and remove VC from association. All of that seems to have been done, still not enough. I'm more realistic. It's still a video game so it will never be perfect, but those clips look fun to me

I don't think I understand what "sliding/ warping" means to some people...seems like it's just the thing to say when some 2k footage is shown...

I skipped on NBA 2K14 because of the lack of Association Mode. With the My League Mode this is a definite purchase.
