Secondly, of course it isn't a full representation. But neither is Madden, NBA2K, APF, NHL, The Golf Club, Tiger Woods ... you can't fully simulate a sport.

When I take the positives I've witnessed and mentally combine them with the skills of the excellent slider builders on OS, I truly believe this game will create a great experience.
I'm not arguing about if it's called soccer or football... I'm not one of them guys. I've no problem at all with people calling it soccer. Also, I know it's impossible for sports games to be played out perfectly, I wasn't saying that either. I'm just fed up with the idea that fifa is a sports game that others should aspire to, it isn't... If you get into soccer enough then you'll understand. I can debate and back this up with so many examples if you'd like?

Is anybody on PS4 experiencing a crazy amount of lag when trying to select different teams?

Played ten games and the CPU averaged over 90% passing....find me a real team that does this over ten games.

I won't even try coming up with sliders however until the final version comes out. The last two years it has been drastically different from the demo.
My only problem with the pass accuracy slider is how it leads to bouncy passes. I absolutely hate that. I've never even come close to reaching the professional level but I can pass the ball on the ground w/o it on bouncing on any decent field. The passing accuracy slider, IMO, should affect placement which in-turn is impacted by the 1st touch slider (should really be an individual attribute).

I've just had a 5 v 1 situation against Napoli (RAFAEL BENITEZ' team) in the first 5 mins (virtual mins) so about 40 seconds basically... He's one of the most tactically astute coaches in the world especially when it comes to defending. In another case, I kicked off and with Rickie Lambert, I bypassed the whole Chelsea team and slotted it away. That's the equivalence of Peyton Manning out running the Seahawks defence on is own 10 yard line and somersaulting at the end. This game has no midfield and it never has. Well, maybe back in 1995 it did but damn, this is bad.

Every sports game is flawed, it will always be incredibly difficult to get a full simulation experience because there are far too many variables in sport. What it comes down to is whether or not the game has workable flaws. Sliders can make everything better in an EA game. Will it be perfect? No, but it's not like the non-EA sports games are miles better. They are all about the same, it's just different aspects of the game that each title does well.

I never judge a sports game based off it's demo because, for me, it's not complete until I've gotten the full version and fully integrated a set of sliders to the game.

Some of you guys need to understand that we here at OS are absolutely NOT the target demographic for these sports games. 80 percent of sports game players are not looking for a life-like sim, they just want fun and fast paced action with lots of goals/touchdowns/homeruns etc. EA absolutely delivers on that particular front.

So is fifa ever going to be a completely accurate representation of soccer? No probably not. Is it the best option we have available? Yeah, it is (sorry PES users).

Until another company decides to take a serious cracked at making a soccer game, this is what we have. You either see it for what it is, a well presented base for you to tweak to your liking, or you just don't play the game.

People see PES/older fifa titles with rose-tinted glasses. After properly adjusting sliders, fifa 14 was the best soccer game we've seen yet and it's not even close.

I do understand why people get super-focused on the details, but I tend to think of FIFA less as a "hardcore football sim" and more like a fantastic video game that represents an amazing sport I like to follow. In that regard, every last-gen FIFA game was a step forward (some definitely more than others), and the current-gen versions are following that tradition.

Hell, we'll probably be complaining about stuff in FIFA 19 and beyond, but that doesn't mean that every FIFA title for the last five or six years hasn't been a great video game on its own terms.

I never played Bball, Hockey or Baseball but I played a lot of football. And FIFA resembles in no way the real game! The ball physics are ****e, have always been so. The CPU defenders block the pass lines with mathematical precision(you can feel the vectors in the background calculating the perfect position of the defender.) You can not play halfpaced half high passes into the gap. Your defenders are too dumb to set the attackers offside, the more they seem to try everything to avoid setting them offside. Dribbling is awful. Far too complicated and not responsive at all. And bedide the numetous gameplay flaws: The managing part in season mode is horrendous: Trading, contract negotiations have nothing to do with real life. And last but not least my "favorite" funkiller: This game is scripted! Most goals happen in or around extra time. And whats even worse: The whole season is scripted. When you play a great season some other team will, too. If you play mediocre the chances that all other teams will is high.

I will never understand why this game gets so much love from reviewers. Either they are all bribed or they are blinded by graphics and presentation. By the way: The german commentators are by far the worst in any sports title. Dumb, out of sync and repetitive. If anyone critisizes the MLB The Show commentators should listen to the german i*****.

If you think FIFA is better than NBA2k or MLB The Show you have never really played these games.

So apart from the fact there isn't a midfield presence at all, you can score with runs from the halfway line against a Chelsea team, you can score from 40 yards out with Raheem Sterling, Jose Enrique being outmuscled by David Silva, Steven Gerrard scoring a rocketing volley on his left foot despite not striking it properly, Fernando Torres scoring from 25 yards out with his weak foot, Daniel Sturridge having a 10 yard start on John Terry and still gets caught up, and Napoli playing A HIGH LINE AGAINST BARCELONA.... Despite all of that in my first 4 games, this game is so realistic!! Haha.. Jeez.
