It's more of a psychological thing than any other in my opinion. They know it's inevitable that 2K will dominate in sales, so what better way to keep the hype up? Release on the season opener.

Judging how they are still releasing NHL 15 on time, the only thing delaying this release is Jesus Bynum.

Movement looks better, and the transision from stationary dribbling to running towards the basket is smoother and more like what it should be. Those dunk and layup animations still look a bit weird, but the game moves better than 14, that's what I first noticed from these videos.

I don't mind it, I would rather have a delayed game if it means it's more polished.
