Wow man. Reading these impressions this went from my most anticipated game this year to a complete joke.

No, the player tie-up (which was just holding with how it was implemented) and suction is gone. It is better this way, but there needs to be a way to gain the positioning and battle for that space without being stuck together unrealistically. Boxing out and tying up a stick is a big part of hockey and this game has never got that right.

I'm thinking that the game has peaked as far as what they can do game play wise so all they could do is improve the visuals which they did greatly. They improve the look while stripping away many game modes and things like player edit and custom music so moving forward they can slowly bring those things back in with minor tweaks and sell it as a new feature giving us clowns a reason to buy the next version. I mean lets face Madden peaked years ago the gameplay changes very little and they have the same generic player faces in most guys for over 6 years now. They change a kicking meter here and button press there, bring back on old feature while taking away one here and there, update the rosters (poorly) and sell it as a new game. I think we have reached that point with the NHL series. Thanks for the sad but useful info guys.
I think there's more they can improve on, such as collison detection. I think it's a matter of if it's possble. I remember a while ago Redshirt mentioned along the lines that one year during testing they programmed the gameplay to where sticks collided with players and other objects and to them it would not have been a fun experience to casual players. I believe there's a lot of room for improvements but as I mentioned before, I dont think they know how to do it yet, e.g. AI inprovements.

Could someone post the ratings and potentials of the players, or at least the important ones? I'd be very thankful, as my league on PS3 is waiting for the ratings to be leaked before picking the teams.

2K Sports please bring back your NHL Franchise. Even though EA destroyed 2K in hockey it would be nice to see 2K get back into making a hockey game and seeing what they can come up with next gen. Could you imagine the graphics and game play detail of their NBA series implemented in an NHL series? It would also prevent EA from releasing half a**** NHL games and getting away with it.

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions

I've only played one game - Blues vs Hurricanes on AS defaults with 10 min periods, penalties all the way up (it's only 1 click up from default) hardcore mode and although the dynamic cameras are neat, I can't see the point with med and high is too high for my tastes so I'm back to classic. I also use authentic post whistle and puck size with small puck shadow because I'm old... lol...

Had a total of 5 penalties, first one was 1:30 into the game for tripping. I love what I saw, puck physics alone are worth it over 14, it's damn near perfect now. Skating is definitely different this year as I over skated so many times on defense. Game looks beautiful imho and the crowds, ice, players, presentation is just great. Commentary is also a breath of fresh air.

I'm seeing my 4th line used a lot more than any previous version, almost too much maybe, at least in key points in the game (I use auto lines and auto aim).

Goalies seem different and look very natural to me. Hitting is also NOT over the top anymore, I had a few knockdowns, but nothing like 14 where I could knock anyone over with Petro.

I only play BeaGM so I've already preordered and will start my Blues franchise next week when the game releases and another roster update is released.

Shot totals were 36-24 Carolina and that's only because I need to get used to the skating. I lost 4-3 but it was a fun game.

I also saw two injuries on two big hits, one to Carolina and one to Tarasenko of my Blues. Probably the only two really big hits of the game.

Oh and the passing % look way better for both teams.. 77% for Carolina I think and in 14 they were always in the high 80's. The puck seems to redirect all over the place, which is probably why I needed just a small shadow this time around.

^By 5 penalties,do you mean 5 per team,or 5 combined? Cause 5 combined ESPECIALLY on max seems way too low.

Anyone else have anything to report regarding penalties?
