Re: Madden NFL 15: Retail First Impressions

I mentioned the mediocre Super Bowl presentation earlier. Well I'm not going to criticize and not offer any solution. So these are my ideas below:

I think this would really increase the presentation of the Super Bowl:
1. Media Day - have players answer questions related to the game. How they reply will offer a slight increase/decrease in confidence. If 2k can do real voice for every game, I'm sure EA can do this for one game.
2. Practice - Allow players to run drills and do play walk thrus in the SB hosting stadium. Also tie to attributes.
3. Day of Super Bowl - Have a gameday type show, showing highlights from games for both teams. Sort of like a "Road to the Super Bowl" type of deal. Discuss strengths, weaknesses, injury reports, etc.
4. Pre Game - Reporters should give reports on both teams prior to the game. Show fans arriving to the game, and have a twitter like deal where fans select the winner (this would actually work well if playing in an online league and the participants vote on the winner for XP or something while in spectator mode). Make it interactive like Mortal Kombat's "King of the Hill".
5. Pre game player or team intros, and specific player intros once the game starts.
6. Commentary - Announcers should mention if you've won Super Bowls in your CFM or IRL. They should also mention key playoff games you won to get to the SB.
7. In Game Presentation -There should be new wipes, graphics, everything. Halftime should also feature in game analysis, not just 10 second highlights of the 1st two quarters. I want to see James Brown, Marino, etc. giving their analysis of the action.
8. Post Game - Gatorade the coach, rush the field with newspapers, trophy presentation, MVP presentation. A video package of highlights from every game, starting with Week 1 and capping off with Super Bowl highlights. Sort of like something we would create in the Share Factory on PS4.

You know what? Every year I read on here how great the new Madden is, and every year it's a let down. So I will wait and see what the community is saying and I will read through the good and the bad and make my own decision.

Re: Madden NFL 15: Retail First Impressions

I think the cold hard reality of no NCAA this year has really changed my perspective on Madden. Could it be better? Absolutely. (Although I'll wait until I can play it myself before I judge this years game.) but I think I'd rather deal with the usual yearly frustrations with this game than worry about the alternative of no Madden at all.

Overall I found the reviews helpful and informative, and I'm looking forward to playing the game.

"I've had an extremely hard time throwing curl routes on the outside, for instance, because cornerbacks almost always jump the pass and take it back for a touchdown. ". Reviewer at usgamer makes it clear that the jump route crap logic is still very much alive

After playing the pre-release I concur. Some things are familiar like the team selection menu, uniforms are exactly the same from M25 (never quite understood why EA puts in uniform options like HOME 11 when it is exactly the same as the default? I want more classic uniforms.

All in all, the presentation is outstanding. I was amazed. The stadiums with real jumbo trons look fantastic.

Where the real beauty is tho is in the gameplay. Players move a more life like pre-snap. Although there are still some quirky tackling animations, there is so much added that makes the players look that much better, especially receivers.

Best Madden I have played. And it's fun. The past few years I was bored within a few hours. I can't wait to get back on the sticks.
