I've been a GI subscriber for years so I'm glad they have a guy reviewing who knows what he's talking about.

I will criticize GI in that they attack CFM shortcomings out of the gate without seemingly to have played a down of the game first. I'm in the gameplay first camp. Good game bro's review was incredibly complete top to bottom.

Hopefully Gamefly doesn't keep me waiting too long for this one, but there's just no way I'll drop $60 without getting plenty of hands-on time with the game. I've had too many years of buying it based on reviews, or just an itch to play a football game, and then 2 weeks later I'm bored with the game and tired of all its broken aspects. I end up going back to Gamestop with my tail between my legs, hoping they'll give me half what I paid for the game.

In GoodGameBro's review he said something about his kicker losing confidence because of a missed kick when it turned out he didn't miss any. Will they be able to patch that?

The only competition Madden has is other sports games that aren't football, but instead of comparing it to its peers like other games and genres are, they compare it to past iterations. There's no way Madden is that good. If they compared it to NBA 2K or FIFA, no way is it above a 3 or 4.

Madden always gets good reviews no matter how terrible it is.

Re: Madden NFL 15 Reviews From Around the Web

I enjoyed the US Gamer review the most, and it wasn't anywhere near as long as some of these other reviews. I feel she captures how a lot of people might feel like after a few weeks with the game. I think our excitement about it being football season again, and just an overwhelming itch for a football game, cause us to have amnesia. I don't deny this game taken a step forward, but it's just that, a step.

Whether we knew in advance or not, we are in the 2nd year of these next gen consoles, still lacking penalties, player movement unchanged, animation quality still lacking. I don't think people would be as hard on the game if we didn't see other sports titles(FIFA, NHL,NBA2K) doing the very things we ask for every year, and doing them well.

It seems like every year I'm telling myself, maybe next year. I just want to play a football game again and not be bored with it after a week or two.

Eh, Sage, that hasn't been true the last few years, though. The reviews, based on my memeory, have been mediocre at best.
