MLB The Show: Potential Deadline Trades to Change the Game

Once a year, every baseball fan gets to live out their wildest dreams.

The trade deadline is arguably the most exciting time of the season in the MLB, with rumors flying around like drunken pigeons. There's not really a direction to anything, and 95 percent of all trade talk winds up being whispers heard in the wind, shouted out by reporters and the most hardcore of fans on social media and message boards. It is exhausting, sure -- but also exhilarating. In sports, there's really nothing else quite like it.

So for all of you baseball fans who know exactly what I'm talking about, here are ten potential trades that could rock the very foundation of your MLB: The Show franchises:

I wouldn't trade Walker++ for Price, so hells to the no for Hamels. I would do that same package of Walker, Peterson, and Taylor for Giancarlo Stanton, however. We need hitting, our pitching is fine, and even though he lost Walker looked great against the Mets.

As a Braves fan, there's no way I would make that trade for Sandoval. You'd be giving up a solid, young, controllable arm for a marginal upgrade of free-swinging third basemen. I think if anything major happens, it would be to upgrade the rotation where Minor has struggled or CF where BJ has struggled. A rotation arm would allow Wood to be back in the 'pen for the rest of the year, where our lefty relievers haven't lived up to those of past successful 'pens.

Agreed. The Braves have tons of young arms they would part with before Wood. JR Graham, Cody Martin, David Hale, and ect. And I don't think Pablo is an upgrade from Johnson. Atlanta would get slower. And with the chances of Upton being chased from the lineup, you may have the slowest lineup in MLB with Pablo in tow. Not to mention Johnson just signed an extension this offseason. The trade just doesn't make sense.

The best thing for the Braves would be to keep Wood in the rotation, and acquire a specialist. It won't take much more than probably Cody Martin to do. And position in the rotation has never been solidified. He's always been a fringe future contributer. Not that he's bad. Just due to Atlanta's depth.

I don't see the Royals trading their #4 prospect for Ian Kennedy, even if he's doing terrible this year in AA. They'd probably trade him for a bat though. They're happy with Guthrie and Duffy holding up the back end of the rotation but sad about how awful Nori Aoki is in RF.

Just my opinion, however.

If Yost knew how to make a lineup we wouldn't have to worry about RF. Aoki is great vs LHP. Dyson is very good vs RHP. Platoon them and you have a pretty damn good OF.

Ummm....why would the M's trade for Hamels when they could get Price for a lot less. Taylor is the SS of the future for the M's so Miller and/or Franklin would be included in a trade way before the M's even consider trading Taylor. Also, the M's GM has been adamant that Peterson is untouchable at this point. Plus, the M's need hitting NOT pitching. With Walker now healthy and Paxton presumably back soon they will have six viable options for the rotation (King Felix, Iwakuma, Young, Walker, Paxton, Elias) and that's not even counting Erasmo Ramirez who just had a good outing. A better trade option would be to go get someone like Marlon Byrd since he won't require gutting the minors and he's a hitter that happens to be right handed. Hell, trading for Stanton would be more realistic than trading for Hamels.
