Re: FBGRatings Seeks to Recalibrate Madden Ratings, Change Game

Love how these ratings a truly change the game, and I understand how you get all the attributes for the players, and I completely trust your scouting reports and sources, and I'm pretty biased here lol but I know Teddy Bridgewater will outplay the ratings he's been given, mark my words, half way through the season he will be the best rookie QB in every category!

Side note, I've been playing around with the sliders and I feel like I've found a good combo to go along with the FBG ratings rosters

All Pro for both CPU/HUM
QBA(both) at 15
-With the QBA at 15 you'll see some incomplete passes that are pretty realistic in my opinion. Like out routes, throwing it to hard will lead the receiver out of bounds and be incomplete, throwing down the field could result in overthrow, or if you underthrow it, with the Pass reaction, good chance a safety thats hanging around will pick you off.

Pass reaction time(both) at 75
-With it at 75, curl routes are pretty dangerous and you can't just call them and march down the field. I've noticed that curl routes tend to be to easy to complete and at 75 I've had the DBs recognize, jump the route, and pick me off, which is awesome.

Everything else is all madden, except I do lower kick accuracy to 45. I don't know if it helps or not, I've just always done it. Also I don't know if this has to do with the sliders, but since I've been playing with these, I've been getting some penalties, I've had like 3 OFF/DEF pass interference calls total throughout a few games, and my favorite, a couple cases of unnecessary roughness when being tackled out of bounds.

IF Bridgewater improves, you will see his ratings rise, I'm sure. Just have to wait for it to actually happen...IF it does.

Re: FBGRatings Seeks to Recalibrate Madden Ratings, Change Game

I haven't been able to test as much as I have wanted to recently, but I was able to get a game in last night. The ratings I used are from the previous update before the 7/9/14, 7/11/14 updates. As a Giants fan I am a little impatient in waiting for Eli to heal so his rating will go back to where it should be, so I used the ratings I had on my FBG rated roster from my 360. Sorry, I just can't get myself to use Painter or Nassib

Like CM Hooe, I have a lot of the same views as he does from his impressions. Madden is Madden, there is only so much we can change within the game. I did take williamsa9 advice and I adjusted the QBA and Pass Reaction Time for both HUM/CPU sliders.

I don't have many impressions to give this time around, other then the fact that these ratings help the game so much. Each player feels more like themselves, and you really need to game plan because match ups are key.

I played New York Giants (Me) vs Cleveland Browns (Cpu)
It was on All Pro with both HUM/CPU QBA sliders at 15 with the PRT at 75. (I got some more inaccurate throws, but the pass reaction time was what really stood out).
8min qts with accelerated clock at 20secs. (I'm not looking for sim stats in the amount of plays right now. I just want to see how the ratings play out)

I got some video of a few plays that caught my attention. I did it quick so you'll have to put up with the phone quality.

This first video is the Stevie Brown INT return. Manziel goes to throw it to the flats on his left, but by the time he throws it, Brown is already full steam ahead to cut it off.
Spoiler

In this play, Hawkins was in the middle of the bunch formation to the right. Rolle is lined up against him, and Hawkins quickness is obviously too much. He leaves Rolle in the dust while catching a wide open pass, and is able to turn up field to gain a few more yards. I also liked how he hurdled the first attempt of a tackle.
Spoiler

In this play you can see Eli uses a play action pass while Jennings goes on a wheel route. Mingo bites HARD, leaving Jennings wide open.
Spoiler

The rookie corner got me on this one. I tried leading a pass to the sidelines where only ODB could attempt to catch it, but Gilbert clearly made an amazing play ruining my red zone opportunity.
Spoiler

In past games I have had major issues with having a lot of injures, but this game wasn't that bad. I also would really like to see the auto subs work a little better :/ .

Edit: If anyone wants me to upload my rosters I can. They need the newest attribute tweaks, but the Giants, Ravens, and Browns are done with rookies.

I am really glad you uploaded those videos. Let me ask you, what affect, if any, did the ratings have on the gameplay itself, the player movement, etc. Could you go into some detail about that as well like CM Hope was doing?

Re: FBGRatings Seeks to Recalibrate Madden Ratings, Change Game

Sure thing. I felt the game play was a healthy dose of both slider adjustments and ratings. With the slider adjustments the ratings were really able to show more. I want to give you more of a detailed report, but I'm going to need to play some more games and hopefully re-rate a few more teams so I can get a different feel for how they play out with the different players. I am enjoying these games so much more with the FBG ratings though.

In that first video, I'm not sure how much the ratings effected the play or if the adjusted pass reaction slider did most of the work. I'm use to having a corner bite down on a flat route, but having a saftey come down like that, that fast is more of a rarity to me. Stevie Brown (spd 80, acc 88, awr 84, play rec 80) has the speed and awareness to get to the ball, but I am probably going to give the edge to the sliders on that play. The ratings still played a major part though.

The second video, I focused more on Andrew Hawkins who was located in the middle of the bunch right. With Hawkins (spd 91, acc 86, route run 86) who is pretty quick off the line and a good route runner, really just was too quick for Rolle (spd 85, acc 82, man cov 89). Rolle jumped inside just a step, but that was enough to have Hawkins create his separation. It wasn't just this play, Hawkins abused me all game with those sudden short routes. So I feel Hawkins sudden quickness, compared to my DBs, was a huge asset because of his ratings.

Eli's PA fake was by far my favorite play. I feel this play really shows the ratings. The main thing to focus on is the LB coming on the left side of the screen. I don't think I have ever seen a LB get that turned around on a PA pass like that. I can't really tell who the LB is (Mingo?), but he might want to get those ankles checked out.

Now granted, I really shouldn't have thrown the ball into double coverage like that in the last video, but at the moment I felt I would have been able to lead the pass to the sideline. This play felt like a healthy mixture of both sliders and ratings. Because of the pass reaction slider, Gilbert was quicker to diagnose the play, and with his ratings, he just seemed more fluid on making that diving int.

Not quite sure how that statement adds to the discussion, but constantly being challenged makes one want to speak a little more "loudly". Albeit heated at times, the thread has offered some great insight and discussion, both of which I greatly appreciate from my fellow OS contributors.
