Another major issue I have is the controls. The striking has no rhyme or reason to it. So if I hit square or triangle with no left stick it throws jab or cross, that seems logical. If I hold back on the LS and hit square or triangle it throws uppercut, again that makes sense. Now the kicking controls is where it gets stupid. So if I hit X or O with no LS it will throw inside or outside leg kicks, that is good. If I add LS forward with X or O then I get teep or front kicks. If I hold back on the LS stick with X and O then I get head or ax kicks.

Ok so now lets throw these controls in while moving around the ring. I'm out of range, I want to lunge in with a leg kick. HOW???? If I hold forward then I with throw a front kick, if I flick LS then X or O I get a body kick.

Same issue stands with the sway on the LT and block on the RT. Why do I have to hold LT and flick LS to sway????? Why couldn't this just have been mapped to the RT??????? Then you could block while moving, plus if you want to sway you flick the LS like normal, LT is redundant! Instead I have to play circus dexterity on the controller to do things I want to do. Ohhhh and speaking of redundancy, why in the hell do you have a L1 and R1 power? Why couldn't just R1 been power strikes??

I'm sorry guys it might sound like I'm bitching, but damn I was so hyped for this game and when I played the demo it smashed my dreams of what I had for the game. Brain Hayes and crew I just don't get their mindset on certain things. So many minor things could be changed to make this title out of this world great but instead its plagued with stupid design decisions.

It will take the retail version being drastically different for me to buy it. I'm still holding hope the higher difficulty levels will fix the hyper aggressive AI, because I feel online this game will be a mess. It is so easy to throw special moves with lack of a stamina hit, I see EA MMA all over again online. Super CAFS and just a **** ton of people spamming the advance moves looking for lucky KOs. So because of that the offline will have to be my saving grace and the only way that will happen is if the AI aggression and strategy is fixed.
Totally agree with you 100%. And I'll add, again, that Bruce Buffer sounds like he's announcing fighters on an undercard that won't be aired on television ever.

I agree. Who ever came up with the control aspect should be kicked in the head.

Why are RB/LB both for modifiers? Redundant.

Why can't I throw a simple front kick at range?

Just poor poor control implementation.

I'd be willing to bet one of the shoulder buttons for modifiers was planned for something else, but way scrapped.

From my time , 16 matches, there are no differances in the types of attacks when using one or another.

I'm sorry but UFC 3 is still hyper aggressive. Its hyper aggressive and predictable. UFC 3 is a game that I played probably 3-4 times a month against the CPU for the last two years. Every (and I mean EVERY) fighter strikes with a similar pace and pattern. They move forward constantly and throw heavy hook combinations. If you are able to weather that storm (and are playing on simulation mode), the CPU's stamina would drop and they will back off to regain stamina. If you hurt them, they will back off. Same with EA UFC's demo.

Lets take a trip down memory lane. Here are actual posts about the UFC 3 demo from the demo impressions thread:

NYG_Meth: CPU is still throwing way too many strikes/kicks even on simulation settings. I hope there's a way to tweak this in the final build...

DaveDQ I noticed that too but thought it might be attributed to me playing at a lower difficulty.

Aholbert32:Felt the same way about the demo. Silva comes out firing strikes. Doubt we will be able to tweak this because there are no sliders. Good thing is once you step forward and fire back the CPU will back off a little.

JoeMimic: I agree, I don't hold out much hope for the final build. It's one of the reasons they picked Anderson Silva and Jon Jones for the demo, every other move is a spinning or flying something.

JB17280 :Haven't won on Experienced yet. I am a bit rusty. Spider Silva comes at you like a bat out of hell. Considering he is a counter-puncher, not so "sim".

Sound familiar? Now these comments are from the first 6 pages of the demo thread (its 30 pages). Look, I'm not saying that the retail version is guaranteed to be different. I'm just saying that this thing has happened before. THQ released a demo with hyper aggressive fighters and the retail version toned it down a little.

What we know about EA UFC is that demo is an aggressive mess at times and people who played the retail version say that its different.

Anyway, I'll take the hit for OS. I will have the game by the Monday before release (16th) at the latest so if you guys are on the fence about the game, wait until I give my impressions and post a few videos before buying.

3 WORKING sliders can fix this demo Ai

Stamina
Chin
Strike Output

Voila, it can fix this game. Have sliders ever been ADDED to a game via patch?

Re: EA Sports UFC Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (Xbox One, PS4)

Anyone else played the demo on both systems?

Trying to figure out why I never came close to pulling off a submission in tons of matches on XB1, then decide to give it a try for a few minutes on PS4 before going to bed and easily got two submissions in three matches (other one was KO so didn't get chance).

PS4 right analog just seemed to work better all around for me in terms of transitions (and obviously with the submission mini-game for whatever reason) but I def. enjoy the XB1 triggers better for stand-up (friends are getting XB1 verson so that's my goto).

Wish we had access to different difficulty levels... it's disconcerting that I can consistently knock out Gustafsson in 20 seconds by parrying his initial salvo (now Jones is a different story... dude wrecks me most of the time!)

Also, what is everyone's strategy when you're rocked on your feet? I don't know what to do... you can't really block, you can't move away... my natural inclination from the Undisputed games is to shoot for a takedown or try and clinch to buy time to recover, but I feel like whenever I do that in this game, I'm instantly getting tagged again... when Jones rocks me on my feet, my only recourse has been to put the controller down or hit rematch :-)

Not quite as hyped as I was after reading all the glowing impressions that came out the past few weeks, but I'm still having fun with the game and will be picking up full version... def. agree with a lot of the sentiment in this thread though... Tekken kicks and power slams are out of place (feel like I should try twirling the right analog to pull off Zangief's spinning piledriver) and CPU fights like it's filming a Rocky movie.

My biggest complaint is how leg kicks are performed... I don't know why the body shot modifier for punches makes kicks go to the body... if you're moving around, it's so hard to just throw a leg kick... you have to be sure all you're doing is pressing the kick button without moving forward or backwards... and when you do screw up and try a leg kick while moving, those kicks are generally going to the body so why do I need a body kick modifier? haha

Yea the controls are screwy to say the least.
