Suspensions Should Exist in Sports Video Games

I dont think they should or ever will be implemented. Players wouldn't like it and complain in a hurry. no one wants to be in game that could tarnish their rep because a game constantly suspends them or makes look bad for something they haven't done. Its bad enough now with game ratings imagine a the people that would complain that so and so got suspended in thier game and it would never happen in real life. Derek Jeter getting caught for PEDs in his last year playing? Some football player that is know for working with sick kids or something getting labeled in a video game a s a cheat? Wouldnt go over well? And what are you going to suspend them for? I dont mind the idea of on field stuff being looked at like big hits, late hits..excessive taunting..stuff the user can control but are we going to stretch it real life things like cheating, DUI, assaults..racism? That wont fly.

Just have it as an incident happened off field or ice and have player x suspended for x amount of games. I think the players associations would be against the language as they wouldnt want murder or rape or even failed drug test being associated with the player.

I agree but it will never happen. The leagues do not want to show any negative spin on their sports. "Their athletes are all angels."

It'd be cool, but it shouldn't be detailed. The player should get a notice saying: "John Doe has been suspended 3 games due to conduct detrimental to the team." That way, the player could use their imagination and make it whatever they want. And this would all be based on the character rating system mentioned earlier.

I believe suspensions should be in for both football and baseball. As someone above mentioned, the option to turn it on or off seems like the ideal solution.

I think it would be great to have a fictional game released every couple years by 2k or whoever. Think, this whole time some company could have been honing their skills with a cool game that featured things like suspensions, personalities, decleaters, late hits, fights, things madden cant put in the game and of course a fully customizable game!
